Chapter 7B
The Reception
Natalia and Olivia entered the Beacon ballroom they were greeted by their family and friends. They were clapping and cheering for the newly married couple. Natalia and Olivia greeted each of their guests. The ballroom looked spectacular, it was intimate, they had six tables, along with the head table. They were in the shape of a horseshoe. A space for dancing was located in the middle of the tables. The stage was set at the opening of the horseshoe for the entertainment later in the evening. Olivia and Natalia had chosen this set up so everyone could get a great view of all the happenings of the evening.
Olivia led Natalia to their table. The dinner was amazing they started with calamari and shrimp cocktail, the main course was stuffed salmon, with green beans, and spinach salad.
Throughout dinner many people approached the microphone told stories, sang songs, or read poetry for the happy couple to kiss. Gone were the days of tapping your glass, people now were more creative to get married couples to show their affection. Natalia had been shy at first with the public display of affection, however she soon took over the lead when they needed to kiss. As dinner came to an end the master of ceremonies approached the microphone.
“Good evening everyone I hope you all enjoyed your dinner. I feel privileged to be your M.C. for this evening. Olivia made me promise to be nice and only tell good stories about her…when I was writing my speech it took me forever to come up with anything to say about her so I thought I would talk about Natalia and how she has changed Olivia.” Olivia gave Buzz the death glare until her wife reached over and grabbed her hand soothing her emotions. “See like that Natalia has this uncanny able to calm Olivia in the blink of an eye. We all know that is not easily done however Natalia makes it seem so effortless. I know everyone has been having fun with coming up here to have the lucky couple kiss but now it is time to get serious. There are a few people that wanted to say a few words to these lovely women.” Buzz nodded.
Phillip, Bill, Josh, Alan, and Buzz approached the microphone, Olivia’s face dropped. Oh shit, this can’t be good. Josh started. “Olivia we know this must make you very nervous having all five of your ex-husbands up here at once. Us standing here is a testament to you, you are an amazing woman we feel honoured to be a part of your life.” Josh stepped aside for Alan. “Olivia we are not up here to say nice things to you we are here for Natalia and to give her some much needed advice, we think had we had such advice we may still be married to you. So here is the number one rule with Olivia make sure she has coffee in her system before you even think of talking to her in the mornings.” Alan moved back and let Bill move forward. “Darling I never thought I would see Olivia this happy and you did it. Rule number two…never, I mean never…take away her goose cause for divorce right there. Buzz moved forward. “Natalia rule number three always remember Olivia is always right…even though we know she isn’t. Also she thinks she is funny, in fact she is only a little funny but we love her all the same.”
Phillip took his turn. “Natalia if there is one thing that you need to know about Olivia is that she is a bear, she will protect her cubs at all cost, and believe me I know. You will never sway her when it comes to loving or protecting her family you are very fortunate to be a part of her life. Please cherish each other.” Josh grabbed the microphone and went to stand beside Natalia. “Natalia as you can see all of us know Olivia pretty well. We tried to be the one for her had we know we were the wrong sex it would have saved a whole lot of money in divorce attorneys.” The reception hall broke out in laughter. Josh bent down to come eye to eye with the younger woman. “Seriously you have repaired a broken heart in many ways and for that we are thankful. Love her and never let her go she is so worth it. Natalia welcome to the family.” Natalia had tears running down her cheeks, Josh leaned over and placed a kiss on her forehead. Everyone raised their glasses and toasted.
Buzz moved back to the microphone to continue with his duties. “Well that was fun. Now lets move on to the…”
“Wait I have something to say.” Olivia and Natalia looked nervously at each other. Well, fuck this should be interesting, or frightening I’m not sure. “I know what you are all thinking why in the world would I want to come up here and make a speech. Well the truth is I have always admired Olivia’s take no hostages approach to life. However now I stand here in front of her and see a woman whipped and it is so good to see. Olivia you deserve all the happiness you have been searching for your whole life. Natalia you are a brave woman, you have the strength of a Freakin Super Hero to be able to handle Springfield’s man-eater. I want to wish you all the luck in the world, because really Natalia I think you are going to need it. Olivia we will always be frienenemies as that works for us. I have witnessed many firsts tonight with Olivia and they suit her, Natalia I want to thank you for coming into Olivia’s life and keeping her out of my hair and away from my men. To Natalia and Olivia.” Reva raises her glass just as Olivia gives her the finger. “Touché Olivia.”
Buzz moved towards the podium Olivia and Natalia wanted to say a few words. Girls it’s all yours.”
Both women looked out at their family and friends, the love they felt was overwhelming. “We…uh…” Natalia leaned over to Olivia and kissed her on the cheek that had fresh tears.
“It’s okay honey…I know Olivia Spencer-Rivera speechless doesn’t happen often so everyone might want to enjoy the moment and mark it on your calendars.” Natalia let her dimples show as she looked into emerald green eyes. “We want to thank everyone for coming to celebrate with us. We know it has been a long road to get here but so worth it. The support and love that all of you have shown us means more than you can ever know. To our family there are no words. Ava, Rafe, Emma, and Jaime we stood up today and joined our family officially, however we know we have been a family for what feels like forever. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t thank God for all that we have and all that you give. We love you. Now enough of us we hope you enjoy your evening.” Olivia leaned in and placed her lips on the younger woman’s shoulder.
“Thanks sweetie.”
“Oh…you owe me for that.” Natalia winked at her wife.
“Alrighty then time for the cutting of the cake.” The women went through the rest of the formalities until it was time for their first dance Natalia took Olivia’s hand and led her to the dance floor. Natalia moved her hands over the older woman’s shoulders and clasped her hands at the base of Olivia’s neck. Olivia pulled Natalia closer reaching around the Latino’s waist. Their foreheads met and they waited until the music began. Quickly they were lost in each other’s eyes, no one and nothing matter at this moment. The song was telling their story. They slowly moved to the music each lost in their thoughts. As the song enveloped the women Olivia started to whisper the words.

Natalia looked up into Olivia’s eyes and smiled at the words Olivia mimicked. Olivia had been insistent at picking their first song, she had said she knew the perfect song for them.

With each word Natalia fell more in love with the older woman, no words had ever been so true. There was no doubt for Natalia that she made the only decision in life that she could. Olivia was hers, she was hers and they would be together until their last breath.

Olivia placed a gentle kiss before continuing to breath the words in Natalia’s ear causing her body to shudder.

Natalia kissed along Olivia’s pulse point, the older woman’s voice deepened as she continued to echo the song. Green eyes turned deep with desire. Natalia stopped her wandering mouth and leaned her head against her lovers.

“I love you with all that I am. You are forever in my heart.” Olivia kissed the new tears that had begun to fall on her lover’s cheeks.
When the song ended Rafe joined his mother and Ava joined hers for the second dance. They moved about the floor until they switched. Emma and Jaime moved with their family Emma holding her younger sister in her arms. Soon others moved to the dance floor to join the happy family. After the song was over Jane came to take Emma and Jaime of to bed. Natalia and Olivia said their goodnights, the girls would be going home with their dads at the end of the evening. Song after song people moved about the dance floor. It was then time for the garter and bouquet. Natalia sat on a chair while Olivia knelt before her. The older woman placed her hands on her lover’s knees then slid the dress up far enough to see her prize. Olivia kissed the inside of Natalia’s knee causing the younger woman’s body to shudder. Olivia gently kissed her way up until she stopped at the garter. I may fall over right now I can smell Natalia I just want to bury my head deep in between her legs. No Olivia not the time focus.
Olivia moved her tongue around the delicate material then pulled with her teeth, as she descended Natalia’s leg the younger woman assisted to release the prize. My God I thought I was going to cum right here with the look in Olivia’s eyes and that tongue. Think anyone would notice if we left. Natalia get it together focus. Olivia lifted herself off the floor and looked over her shoulder, she winked at Natalia and threw the garter. What happened next was unexpected the men were piled on each other trying to get the garter. As bodies were removed from the pile Josh grinned at his prize then winked at Reva. Natalia stood and threw the bouquet, the women pushed and pulled until Doris came out of nowhere and dove to catch the bouquet. “Who would of thought Wolfe would catch the bouquet.” After the laughter calmed down the music began to play, the dance floor filled.
Natalia walked over to the microphone. “May I have your attention please I know we are fast approaching New Tears Eve. We have a special quest and friend here tonight for the next hour to help us celebrate our wedding and ring in the New Year. Please help me welcome Jen Foster to the stage. As Jen moved to the stage she stopped and hugged both women. She sat on a stool with her guitar and started to sing. At first people sat and listened taking in the intimate feeling of the performance. As time passed people gathered on the dance floor and swayed to the sweet voice.
Olivia and Natalia watched their guests everyone was having an amazing time. “Wow who is that?” Olivia looked over to where her lover’s eyes steadied.
“I thought you met Jen’s girlfriend Janet when we went to see her a few months ago in New York.”
“No I definitely would have remembered her.”
“Ah Sweetie remember you are a married woman.”
“Honey I know and I love you more than anyone, there is and will never be anyone else for me. But really you would have to be blind not to notice. Look at her she is stunning.”
Olivia laughed at her wife. Jen had just finished her last song everyone cheered, there was less than ten minutes to go. The D.J. started to play again as Jen exited the stage to join Natalia and Olivia. “What is so funny Olivia or do I even want to know.”
“Oh hi…you do…I think my wife has a bit of a crush on your girlfriend.” The three women broke out into laughter just as Janet approached them. “Hi Janet it is nice to see you again, this is Natalia, Baby this is Janet.” The women shook hands, Natalia blushed…she was quickly drawn out of her embarrassment when the D.J. started counting down.
Natalia pulled Olivia into her arms. “10…I love you…9 …you’re beautiful…8 …you’re so very sexy…7 …so stunning…6 …so tasty…5 …sensitive…4 …caring…3 …protective…2 …all mine…1 …I want you. Both women’s lips met with Natalia’s final words. When they pulled apart their guest were singing and hugging each other. Natalia and Olivia stood for a moment watching the joy around them. Fireworks splashed across the sky through the wall of windows.
“Jen I just wanted to thank you so much for coming tonight it was beautiful…you are beautiful.” Olivia hugged the singer.
Natalia in turn thanked Jen then squeezed her hand. Olivia and Natalia both leaned towards Janet and each placed a kiss on her cheek. “Happy New Year take care of our girl.”
“I will and congratulations on your wedding, Jen has told me so much about the two of you I feel like I watched your story unfold.” The four women laughed, then parted ways. Olivia and Natalia began saying goodnight to their guests. As they exited the ballroom they made their way to the front entrance where the Limo awaited them to start their wedding night.
