Shindoi

Sorry if this sounds off. I'm still really tired.

We climbed Daimonji yesterday. For those who don't remember, Daimonji is that mountan area with the Japanese character for "big" in the middle of it. I've posted a few pictures of it here already, and it's visible from my room.

I woke up early because we decided to make it an early trip. It was cold and cloudy and I wanted to curl back up in bed, but I'm glad we went.

I went with Tam, Liz and Liz's new friend from Germany named Alex.

The trek up to the mountain was crazy. It was pretty much a steep path of uneven stairs all the way up. The stairs were cut out of the trail, somewhat man-made as logs had been placed as stairs (hard to explain). It was pretty much climbing uneven, earthy stairs for an hour.
The view we saw was definitely worth it though. A panoramic view of the entire city, it was great.
We ate lunch on the big Japanese character until it started to sleet, then we ran down to a little shrine and ate under that for the remainder of the time. Climbing back down the mountain in the rain was a little scary because I'm so clumsy. Luckily I didn't fall or break my neck or anything.

We were all tired after the bike ride home, so we didn't do anything else. Just stayed in and ate warm food and kept out of the rain. It was a good way to end the day.

My butt is really sore, but it was worth it.

The beginning of the trail:

Now with more uneven trail goodness!

Great view

Maybe I was squinting or something? It looks like my cheeks are trying to eat my face now.

Tam took this one. I like the blue/brown/white theme going on in it.

And yeah, I'm totally cutting my hair before I go back to school.

Okay, ignore the fact that I'm showing Tam my chewed up food. That's a pretty good view there.

Liz taking a restiepoo. We all dressed in layers but were burning up by the time we finished.

Tam wanted to get in one picture of me "smiling" [as good of a smile I can do on demand]. Liz said it looks like I'm possessed. =( So what if I eat other peoples' souls? XO
