Teenagers

Well, stint doing archery at Celtic festival is over. Had a good time. Shot a bunch. Felt really good to be able to shoot a bunch again. Will have to make time for it before and after the move.

Now on to teenage angst and emotions...Gah. Mariko is in the uneviable position of being the one the boys confide in about how much they are "in love" with this girl or that girl. She is tired of not being the one that they are interested in romantically. So she is dressed up in a strapless black number for her birthday pool party today. Pool, as in billiards. Whatever. If it helps her to feel better about herself then good. I guess there was a lot of calling around last night to girlfriends for support and what not. I was not here for it. :-( Out late from dinner and stuff after the Celtic Festival.

Part of me says that it is a good thing that the boys are not interested in her. That is the fearful, cynical, selfish dad part. The other part says dangit, she is a great kid, and the boys are still just stupid. She is more on the geeky side, into sports and computer games, and not the boy stuff. It is the kind of girl that most of us smart guys want now that we are older. To wit, kitirara, christine, gekko, amanda42, etc. They are intelligent, geeky, cute, and with it. They are not the vapid, fashion chasing, divas of the magazines. Thank the gods for that.

I suppose that it is more important for her to be happy than for me to not have to worry about this crap for another few years. *sobs* *gets out firearms to clean for when the boys come a callin'*
