I finally took a few minutes to call SA on the way from one building to the other...it was nice and sunny out.
Well, they shuttled me to the right lady right away, and she was pleasant and efficient. I headed her off at the pass by telling her that I had shot about 300 rounds through it already and had a few people shoot it, and it was low for most of them. I did not tell them that
asracer and
lemonhd are freaks, but that even a supershooter (aka
smjayman) was putting things low with it. She then commented to herself that welp, answered those first few questions... then she asked if it was like 2-3" low at 25 yards. I laughed and said that it was that low at 7 yards! She took that in stride and said that they would have to get it there to set it up on their range and sight it in and see what they could do about it.
She gave me their UPS account number, the RMA number, and was kind enough to tell me how they would like it packed and shipped, and make sure it was insured. No kidding on that one! Gee, this is going to Springfield Armory, I wonder if it is a really nice 1911 for my collection? She did not give me an eta on it. I am thinking of trying to shoot it one more time to really convince myself I am not nuts...and maybe it is getting better with more rounds through it. We will see if I can squeeze it in this week before I ship it out.
I am sure they will get it shooting properly and that I will be ex-static with it. Too bad jayman went to the darkside...what a sellout...I think he has to turn in his Libertarian card now, right?
