Ah, well, the explanation behind my username is nothing overly spectacular, really. You see, at the time that I started this journal, I was heavily into a forum-based Harry Potter RP.
My first, and generally main character that I played was named Nikolai Tichtchenko. And, for some reason, for every set of characters I create, one seems to become a bit of an alter ego. First it was Tris (A&D), then Luckis/Zero (GS1), Raven (GS2), and finally Niko... the bisexual little gothic Russian boy-slut that he was at times. (He cheated on Draco by seducing his closeted-best friend, Trevor...) I seriously love that kid. X3
He was so much fun to play... as a member of the Slytherin house, and a last minute transfer student from Durmstrang, (his father's 'undercover' muggle job that he was assigned by the Russian Ministry [of Magic] wound up getting him onto the bad side of the Mob, so they had to leave Moscow for London), he only spoke rather broken english, so I had to learn to type with an accent, as well as learn some random words in Russian. It was awesome.
So, back to how it became my username. I think it was before I started commonly using DarkEmpr3ss, and I was tired of using Trisdanna (which has yet another story behind it) for everything... so I randomly picked Nikolai, which had also been a nickname I had acquired from someone I went to cadets with. But 'Nikolai' was actually taken, so I ended up having to add the last intial of the aforementioned character.
And there it be.
And... just because I feel like it, here's a picture of my Niko. ^^ It's an old oekaki I did back in 2004, but I still like it.
