So... in photo class today

Normally I don't have an issue with nudity, or controversial work in art, but today someone was presented in class who clearly took her work too far, in my opinion.
Sally Mann is, in the technical sense, and often, these days, in a general sense, a very good artist. She knows how to make good images. Thing is, the work we were shown today really was, to be honest, gross to look at, and it really, really bothers me that we had to see it.
Sally Mann is known probably better for the nude photos she took of her children. While some are indeed fairly innocent, some are downright, well, sensually portrayed. Her work is very intimate, and you know what, I am not comfortable with that. I don't want to see some little girl's vagina or some little boy's dick wigglewaggled right up in front of my face as if it was my own child's. Moreover, she exploited the innocence of her kids to make the photos that she made, and that, to me, is just wrong. Sure, lots of people might defend her actions, and honestly, I wouldn't call her stuff pornography, but the thing is, it may just damn well be porn for some people.
I did not want to see that. I never wanted to see that. I am personally very disturbed by it, and really, honestly, upset that it was considered art to be shared with the public.
fuck my teacher
I am seriously upset with him.
