Argh! I picked a horrible day to pay attention to comms. I am *so* over podfic wank.
In other news:
Life's been a bit of a bitch lately. Or work, really. Most of June and all of July were some of the worst weeks I've had at my job in 20 years of working there. I went away for two weeks of vacation, and since getting back, it's almost worse. It doesn't help that our company, in general, is in a bit of a make-or-break transition period. Lots of horrible work-related nightmares lately. :P
Nothing terribly new, fandom-wise. I went through a fairly big "zombie" phase for a bit, with finishing up the Walking Dead season, then playing the Walking Dead game and "The Last of Us". Last of Us, in particular, owned my soul for two straight playthroughs. Great world-building, and an adoptive parent-child relationship that's really something special.
With fall coming up, it's pleasant to have multiple returning favorites to look forward to... I forget if I ever talked about them, but I really loved Elementary and Nashville last year, in addition to having fallen back in love pretty hard with Walking Dead. Of the upcoming pilots, the buddy-cop-ness of Being Human has a definite appeal (plus, Karl Urban! :) ), and the trailer for Ironside was surprisingly appealing. I've never seen the original, but never thought of it as my sort of show.
Over vacation, I also caught up on Welcome to Night Vale. It's not really sending me into paroxysms of squee the way it has half of fandom, but it's fun and sweet and I'm glad I checked it out.
Oh! One exciting thing that happened... I actually got rec'd at crack-van a few weeks ago for a Sentinel story I wrote back in the day! I haven't thought about those except to throw them up on AO3 in ages, and would never have expected to get any sort of feedback on the recced story, in particular, since it's kind of a weird, rambly, OC-driven thing... so it was an incredible compliment to see it pop up. :)
