There's been some swine flu going around here, and tonight my mom called me to make sure I was feeling okay and to make sure I would call her if I got sick. Apparently there have been enough outbreaks for it to make the news.
I don't have the swine flu. I don't want to get it. Now, of course, I am getting paranoid about every little sniffle.
I cleaned off a bunch of Facebook apps today because I thought I should. I did not do my reading for Romanticism (but I have time set aside for that in the morning). I have to help make a test this week, but fortunately I think that will be relatively easy.
I'm getting faster at making PowerPoint presentations to accompany my lesson plans. I don't know if they're good but they'll do for now.
I've been asked more than once where my southern accent is, and the answer that always comes to mind is that I've been practicing my non-regional diction, à la Veronica Corningstone.
Still trying to eat healthier, and also trying to cook more. My mom sent me the Betty Crocker Cookbook (a newer incarnation of her old and fabulous one) and I'm sufficiently inspired to make things from scratch. Now if only I were sure I could trust my oven not to smoke up the apartment...
