u to the p to the d-a-t-e, it's an update....
Well hello all. If you know me on Facebook you probably already know this, but I am 98% sure I'm going to Kansas for my Ph.D. That 2% doubt exists because technically they still have to tell me if I have a stipend (though that seems pretty likely). I found that out last Friday. Yesterday I put a deposit down for an apartment in a good location (near the KU campus). Well, actually my mom did that for me since she has the money, but I found the apartment complex over the weekend. Anyway, it made for a nice ending for last week, what with comps being over and all....
You remember comps, right? They were last week (April 2) and I feel like they went reasonably well. There's always more that can be said (and of course I thought of five million things later), but for what I remembered at that time, I think I wrote as much as I could. That day was quite long - I went to my Literary Theory class, then to the Electric Mexican with Melissa for a celebration/lamentation meal (with margaritas). MAS TEQUILA! We went to our technology class with a slight buzz. I felt a little rebellious, but only a little - we did still go to class and all. The oral part is scheduled for April 20.
