It took me a day and a half of doing nothing to get used to it (but thankfully, there was no extreme drinking, which was my initial instinct). I think you're on the right track now, though, and I'm glad you're feeling like you can do it. As for grad schools, remember that you've done all you can and there's no need to concern yourself with that. On the relationship side of things, if you feel like it would relieve stress, go ahead and call him, even if it's just for a friendly chat or an "Ack! Can you believe this is all happening at once? How do they expect me to focus on comps when I'm worried about grad school?" If you think it would increase stress, don't call him and try to keep it off your mind. (You can, alternatively, call me and be all, "Ack! Can you believe all of this is happening at once?" and I will be all, "Right. Jerks. I'll kick 'em in the knees."
Also, you should let me take you out to dinner after Instructor's Course on Saturday. I could buy you some La Huerta or even some Taco Bell or something that is not Mexicany at all. I will be sweaty and a little gross, so don't worry about lookin' sexy or anything (not that you have the option to turn that off).
