To those who weren't aware: The last journal post about Chrono Trigger was, indeed, a rare NikkyVix Troll. Thanks for the feedback in the replies I got!
What surprises me, though, is that no one really took it seriously to the point of trying to explain anything about Chrono Trigger. If I really didn't know better, I'd think it was just another overhyped stat-fest concocted by Square that has generated a truly monstrous cult following..and we all know that never happens with Squaresoft games. :) I have friends offline and online who consider it the pinnacle of RPGs (and I'm sure someone's about to respond proclaiming how right they are..yes, I've heard it all before, somewhere around the corner of the endless Final Fantasy/DragonQuest debate). People in message feedback for the game claim seeing the clock teaser and hearing the music made them weep for joy (that was about the time I decided to make the troll-journal). As for me, I've played about 8 hours of the game. Big deal. Didn't get to the OMG-plot-development-attachment parts I suppose. I'm sure there's people out there who can't stand Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy VII, too. Regardless, I'd still like to give it a try. I think I'm beyond the stage where a vintage title like CT or a remake of FFVII can instill the ravenous admiration reserved for Protoss Zealots on stimpacks, but at least I'll be able to play through it in a fashion I like.
Let's hope all you others with fond memories of the game aren't disappointed too, I wager.
