For the Sonic the Hedgehog Fans...

...Guh. Just guh.

Many of you know that I don't put heavy stock in reviewers. But, after reading the first review above...digesting it...it's not BS. Nobody lists specific issues like this just for complaint. The sad part is, I remember reading the very first press release about the game in development, on IGN. And the one assertation that was stressed was, in fact, that 'Sonic the Hedgehog' would take the franchise in an entirely different direction from the Adventure games of last gen, putting the emphasis on Sonic, and what made Sonic great in his 2D era.

I almost bought an XBox360 just for Sonic the Hedgehog, thinking it was something that it turned out it wasn't. The original StH was the first game I played on my own very first game console. My first serious drawings were Sonic fanart. I even stayed dedicated to trying for 100% completion of Sonic Adventure 1 three times, after the Dreamcast's shytti VMU units ate my savegame data and records for the game twice in their lives.

I don't see a point in thinking Sonic Team can deliver on the Sonic name, any more. Maybe I'll just find a ROM of Sonic Rush and Sonic Advance, complete them, and consider the Sonic game franchise..."way past".

P.S: Yuji. Yuji Naka. Are you listening to me, Yuji? If your Sonic Wildfire Wii experiment turns out to be intolerable tripe, then honor demands you take my ceremonial chopsticks and commit seppukku on my front lawn.
