working

ok so within the past 4 days i managed to work for 42.5 hours. that's right i was registering people for the Rotary International Convention here in lovely-lovely chicago. some of u might have heard of it some of the news shows did a piece on it. but if you haven't this is what it is: it's a gathering of 45,000 people from all over the world converging onto McCormick Place. Anyway the majority of these people have money cause it cost $300 just to get in the doors and then even more money to do other random crap. now working the 12 hour days would have been ok if these people spoke english. now i'm not saying all of them didn't but when I did get someone who didn't speak english and could not tell the list of crap that I had to go through, like choosing a time they wanted to go to the closing feature or telling them about the free Metra pass. And if they came with a person who spoke english to translate for them that person would just wonder off. WTF. but any way I got paid $10per hour and with the day of training that I had so I could learn the computer system I worked 40 regular hours and 8.5 of over-time.
