Summary
Fergie, a young woman with a charming posterior, uses her physical assets for monetary gain. However, as we learn in the last verse, she is no prostitute - her only aim is to exploit men for the branded goods they will offer her ("Fendi", "Dolce And Gabbana" etc.)She also wishes to dance, presumably "down at the disco", where, in the central stanza, a character called Will, a young male, explores the taboos surrounding inter-racial relationships in the twenty-first century.

Glossary of Terms
My humps - rump or posterior; often of marked quality or exceptional shape.
Lady-lumps - usually taken to mean breasts; can be a synonym for "humps"

Analysis
When reading "My Humps", our initial reaction is to see its central character, Fergie, as a woman of little virtue. She is brand-obsessed, reducing her composite parts themselves to mere buzzwords - her "lady-lumps" - and attempting to entice us with callous marketing strategies (use of "lovely" etc.). However, our attention is drawn to more serious issues by the juxtaposition of her story with that of Will I. Am in the second verse. Here, a young black male meets a girl "down at the disco", and, forcing us to examine modern attitudes to inter-racial partnerships, suggests that they make a sweet metaphorical chocolate milk with their love. In light of this modern treatment of the situation, we are then shown that Fergie is not the cold-hearted harlot she has at first appeared to be - she is, in fact, a self respecting woman, who will "start some drama" if anyone violates her by molesting her "humps". This use of a serious racial issue in an otherwise frivolous context calls to mind John Waters' "Hairspray", perhaps a deliberate parallel. Thus "My Humps" becomes an intriguing exploration of modern attitudes to identity, race and gender.

For Sophie's benefit.
