Hellooooo!!!!!
Been a long time since I updated. Not too much has happened, but I do have some exciting news:
I passed the first part of the CPA Exam!!!!! I actually passed the hell out of it... I got a 93!!!
I was so shocked when I got the notice. I thought I did all right, but apparently I did a whole lot better than I thought. I have to watch myself though; I don't want to get too cocky.
Like right now. I should be studying for the second part, which I scheduled for February 17, but for some reason I just can't bring myself to do it. Probably because I've had a long day, but I have to get used to it - tax season is just around the corner and the days are only going to get longer....
Other than that, it's been the same stuff. Working during the week, hanging out with Steve on the weekends (which is always wonderful), and I spent the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) with my family. It was so nice to have some family time; I didn't realize how much I missed that since moving here.
Steve and I have been doing some pretty interesting stuff over the past couple of months. We went on a NYC bus trip with my firm in early December, which was awesome because I haven't been there for 5 years. We also had a wonderful time ice skating at Clipper Magazine Stadium, and of course we've been going to Bears games (who are currently 5 points ahead of those pesky Penguins and are happily perched atop the AHL standings!). I went down to Kennett Square for New Year's and had an amazing time spending time with his family and friends.
As for work, it's been slowing down a little. It had picked up a little in early December, but now it's almost like the calm before the storm. I'm nervous about my first tax season, but it's not because I'll have an insane amount of work to do; I'm actually looking forward to that. I'm nervous simply because it'll be my first tax season, and I just don't know what to expect. But I'll find out soon enough.
Finally, I just got word from my mom that she made the plans for our Florida trip this year! April 28-May 6. It's going to be awesome and so well-deserved. I just hope Steve can make it, which depends on if he becomes employed by that time or if he decides instead to go to law school (he's torn right now, but trying for both).
Okay, no more procrastinating!!!! It's not college anymore. Gotta go hit the books.
I miss all you E-Town alumni!
