LJ Idol - Week 13 - Fan Death

I went to a rock show last night for Highly Suspect. If you're not familiar with their music then I would describe them as a mixture of hard/alternative rock, with a bit of a blue-sy vibe and a touch of hip hop thrown in here and there. Coincidently I've been waiting for something to speak to me for this topic and inspiration hit me (literally) as ( Read more... )

16 is one of my favorite songs right now. I imagine they are pretty good live!

I imagine being in the pit section must be lots of fun. It sounds like a very fun time. But I am the kind of person who likes seats and watching the crowd surfing from a distance.

It's a major adrenaline rush being with all those people and close to the stage. Depending on who I'm seeing determines if I want pit or seat tickets. There are only a handful of bands I'd take on the pit for and HS was one of them! (: thank you for reading and commenting!

I’ve only been in the pit once: Gloria Estéfan. All we did was dance, it I got to shake her and her son’ s hands. Concerts are a ton of fun, but the crowd control part is scary.

Oh, I bet that was a blast!

There were a couple of times I got a little worried that we might have to make a quick exit, but thankfully we were lucky! People are wild!

It's been a long time since I've had the moxie to be up front at a concert. And it was certainly way before pits and crowd surfing were really a thing. I prefer the reserved seat now.

Glad you enjoyed yourself.

I was so anxious about it! I kept telling my sister that we should try to stay off to the side in case a mosh pit broke out or something, because I definitely did not want to get involved in anything like that. Luckily that never happened!

Thank you! I'm not sure how many more years I'll be able to endure the fun and excitement of it. There was a little girl who couldn't have been more than 7 or 8 who stood next to us the whole time! I was impressed. Also a couple of older folks who must have been in their late 50's/early 60s (not that I consider that old, but much older than most of the crowd) rocking out with us!

Boy that’s a whole lot of standing around! Sounds fun but exhausting!

It was definitely both of those things! The exhaustion is worth it to me for that experience, though. I did it for almost 10 hours for a different band. But when we were outside that venue waiting for the doors to open there were places to sit for a bit at least.
