And here... we... go!!!!
Some years ago, I was presented the opportunity of a lifetime: to go teach English in Japan! Many people have done this, so you might think, duh! What's so special about it? But for me, it was quite unbelievable because it was not something easy to achieve, most of all because English is not my first language. While it was a short-term replacement contract (3 months), I didn't hesitate to quit my regular high-paying job for this short but so enriching adventure. And I have never regretted it. I fell in love with Japan, its people, its culture, its language.
Over time, I lost contact with most of the people I met back then, but my love for Japan has not gone. I am now studying Japanese and Japanese culture, and I wanted to share this love here!
I arrived in Japan at the beginning of a very cold Spring. Sakuras were not going to bloom before a few more weeks.
But it was really worth the wait!
Now I understand why people want to have picnics and parties under the sakuras!
