I'm sitting here waiting for it to be time for me to go to my birthday celebration dinner with old friends...  and i got hungry... so i started surfing the net for food stuff.... yea yea... I thought this article may be of amusement to some of you who are sitting at home on a rainy day reading LJ!  ^_^
How to make lasagna in your dishwasher (no joke)

I just saw a very strange recipe that calls for lasagna to be made inside of a dishwasher. I'm not kidding. According to partselect.com, you no longer need an oven to cook lasagna and can get great results from a two hour cycle in your dishwasher.

Here are their "trusty" cooking directions:
  • Set dishwasher on normal cycle and select 'heated dry' and 'sanitize' for extra heat. This cycle should take about two hours.
  • Once the cycle is completed, let the lasagna stand for a few minutes before serving. [-partselect.com]

I wonder how much idle time the person who discovered this "cooking method" had on their hands.

If (for some crazy reason) you want to try your hand at dishwasher "baking" check out their recipe for dishwasher lasagna florentine.

and now for article #2

The dilemma of the Krispy Kreme cheddar bacon cheeseburger of delight

I'm kind of in love with the blend of savory and sweet flavors. I don't allow myself to eat chocolate-covered pretzels because I know that I won't be able to stop until I've inhaled 40 million of them. One of my favorite (and easiest) hors d'oeuvres to make is a bacon-wrapped date and last Christmas, I may or may not have indulged in a piece of bacon used as a chocolate fondue delivery mechanism (and it may or may not have been utterly delicious). In a very Victorian nature, I'm a little bit afraid of my hunger for the salty/sweet/savory on my plate, because it just might convince me that a little KFC Original Recipe chicken would be very good drizzled with wildflower honey.
