This weekend was sooooooooo much fun!!!! Well, Jill and I traveled to University of Delaware to visit my awesome Lauren Rooney, who I miss so much! Rooney's mom gave us directions, and I was the navigator. I guess the trip got off on a bad foot because we had to ask my mom where 74 was...haha. Seriously though. Anyways...we get on the road and had to guess at some points because there were confusing circles to go around and we happened to pick the right way. Then, we get into Delaware and continue into Newark, looking for Corbit Street, which Jill and I still believe does not exist. Apparently, we missed the street and continued into Newark, which was fine because the buildings looked kind of like college buildings. The street kind of split, and Jill and I stayed to the right, even though I thought I saw a sign pointing to 273 the other way. Well, we get about 30 minutes down the road and we come across a sign that says "Welcome to Maryland" followed by another that said "Cecil County." At this point, Jill and I realized that we should probably not be in Maryland...AGAIN. It's only now that I mention to Jill that I forgot to tell her about the sign that pointed to 273. So, we hooked a "u" turn and went back to where the road split off. This was about an hour and a half into the trip. We ended up going even further in another direction away from the campus...almost out to the Christiana mall. We passed a power plant or something and a Sears center, and oh my we were so lost. Rooney had no idea where we were, so she told us to call Brandt. Brandt was no help at all. He told us to look for route 486, BUT there WAS no route 486. There was a route 986, but Brandt was insistent that it was 486, so we followed 486, and we were RIGHT! THEN, we almost died making a left turn. Jill was confused and flustered and pulled out in front of a car going straight and they slammed on their brakes just stopping in time. Seriously INCHES from her car. Jill lets out a piercing scream and Brandt almost goes deaf in his ear from talking to her, and I just start laughing. So, we weren't even supposed to make the left turn so we turned around in a driveway which we had already turned around in THREE TIMES! We drove by the SAME FREAKING yellow blinking light four times because according to Brandt, "The light is huge! It's as big as your car. You can't miss it." Well, go figure, we did. Four times. And it was a tiny sign by the way. So Jill and I made an hour and 15 minute trip into a three hour long adventure and near death experience.
So we finally get to Rooney's place and her anti-social roommate reeks of pot. We went to get Jill a parking pass and as we are backing out of the parking spot, I was asking Jess (Rooney's friend) if she needed any more space in the back seat, and Jill was too busy telling me that it didn't matter because the seat didn't go back any farther to realize that there was a yellow pole right behind her. You can see where this is going. She hit the pole. It's crooked now, and her bumper doesn't look so hot. Later we went out to eat with all of Rooney's friends. That was lots of fun. I could never do that walking every day. That's insane. It doesn't help that I'm lazy.
Saturday we went to the mall, and got lost on the way home. Go figure. We eventually made our way back to the college, and Jill and I took Brandt home. He got us a bit lost too. We missed a turn, but then went back and found it. No big deal. It felt more normal for Jill and I to be lost than to actually know where we're going. We had many conversations, especially about guys. We've come to the conclusion that guys are all assholes. The only ones that aren't are ones that 1)Are gay, or 2)Have a girlfriend or are infatuated with one girl in particular. It is so true. It sucks.
It was so nice to see Rooney and finally get to meet her friends! I think we're taking another trip down there, but don't worry. We know our way around Newark, DE pretty darn well know. Yesterday I had a 5 page paper to write, but I decided that I couldn't pull the last 3 outta my ass at 1:00 this morning, so I gave up and didn't go to class. It was only our rough draft, so we were just revising it today.
I get to schedule classes tomorrow!! Woohoo! I hope I get everything I want. I can't wait till Christmas break. It will be nice to have a break from doing work.
I went to Walmart today with my friends George and Ash. George is on a man hunt for me. Haha.
Well, I'm going to stop my babbling now.
