1)General stuff
Q1: What's your HN(handle name)?
Nightmare Nikki, though I've gone through many. Some others include my D-art: Nikki-Nova-909, here I'm nikki_star, there was a point when I was Invader Nikki, but I think I'm gonna stick with Nightmare Nikki, or Nikki Noktern for a full name.
Q2: Why do you call yourself that?
Because I'm spooky and am a sucker for alliteration :) Nikki ain't my true name as most know, but based on my middle name, Nicole.
Q3: Do you use a Mac or a PC?
PC
Q4: What program do you use to do your pictures?
Paint Shop Pro 7, but now that I've gotten a tablet I'm dabbling in Photoshop
Q5: Do you use a tablet or a mouse?
I got a tablet for x-mas <3 But I haven't had time to do much art lately with this crazy semiester of school. So, many earlier works were with the mouse but the few recent things I've done are tablet.
Q6: What colours do you use a lot?
Purples and blacks...But I also love greens and blues....It depends on what the image is, but I must say I usually make things teetering on the monochromatic palatte style.
Q7: What area of the pictures do you put most effort into?
Depends on my mood. On traditional images I usually put a lot of effort into imitationalismish pictures, but with digital help I like to do good anime drawings. I amnot one to do many backgounds.
Q8: About how long does it take you do finish each picture?
I have so many unfinished images I plan on completing, but if its something with a deadline or something I really really want to finish, I usually get it done in between either a few hours or few days. Longest would maybe be a month or so.
Q9: Do you keep your rough drafts?
Who doesn't? Always good to look back and practice.
Q10: What special effects do you often use?(photoshop)
Dodge/lights (to change the mood of the image)
Q11: What size do you colour your pictures in?
Mostly with at least 200dpi, sometimes 300 dpi. I hate doing tiny images, but I also hate images that stretch the screen, so it basically fits between those two.
Q12: Do you do anything else when you're drawing pictures?
Listening to music or watching tv. Sometimes I'll take a break and get a snack :x But usually I just have some sort of audio stimulance in the background.
Q13: About how many pictures do you draw in a month?
School has been really hectic latey. I used to find myself with about 10 drawings or more a month, but right now I'm at an all time low, even with art class. I wanna say at the MOST 10, minimum 2. Pathetic, I know. ;_;
Q14: What paper do you use to draw on?
Nice, thick, sketchbook paper. I loathe drawing on computer paper, but if I have ink notebook paper ain't bad for silly doodles.
Q15: What material do you use when working on paper?
Simple mechanical pencils for sketching, microns for inking, prisma for color images. Sometimes india ink/pen. Once in a while water color.
Q16: How long does it take to ink something?
Depends on how elaborate the drawing, but I'm lazy and usually don't draw too intricately. About 20 minutes if I intend on finishing it right away, a few days if I kind of don't care.
Q17: Do you do doujinshis?
I've been working on one for the longest time....One day I shall finish it!!!!
Q18: What do you like most about doujinshi?
I like finding cute and smutty ones. As for ones I write, half for smut, half for stretching a plotbunny into a story.
Q19: Ever submitted anything to a magazine?
I will, I will....patience....

Q21:Favorite artist?
I very much admire Burton. For anime I really like Ai Yazawa's style. Keith Harring had a nice simplistic style. I love Jhonen Vasquez, as well. Oh yes! Can't forget the ones representing American anime: Tavisha and Rikki!! <3 Oh, and gotta love Alan Forbes's stuff for affy.
Q79: What made you like drawing?
Watching anime (Sailor Moon!! <3) as a youngun, I loved how it looked and tried to draw it (I felt I had an aptitude for it when I drew pretty decently in 1st grade). Eventually, decided this is what I want to do and keep practicing and practicing. :)
Q80: What made you want to get a website?
I'm a web nerd....Waahh....I'm so lame now. I used to be all awesome web kid, but now all I do is blog, myspace, and go to the AFI board :d

Q81: Why did you name your site what it's called?
...I once had one called "Insanity Web" and another one for Harry Potter art called "Spellbound!"....No more...I'm so lazy!!!
Q82: What do you think about net manners?
Net manners? WTF? LOLOLOLOLOROFL. Well, I do think that people should use proper grammer and spelling at least SOME of the time!

If you haven't yet, you haven't ever been on the internet.

Well, I've clearly quit my own pages but as for LJ, Dart, and Myspace, nah. Too fun :)

I dunno....I don't care, as long as it looks good. I suppose as much as it takes to make the picture pretty.

I've got 20/20, but I'm probably not as perceptive as I should be.

Its fun. I'm not on any boards anymore, but Y-gallery has one so whee.

No. Well, I'm okay, but I'm not as artsy fartsy as I am a comicy sort of person.

Once when I was ittle.

eh, I transcend computers/real world @_@ Nah, I guess I'm a bit different online...I'm less embarrased about the Yaoi ^^;;
Q98: Your goal?
Make graphic novels, live in either NY or LA, and make such comics into films (musicals! <3) One thing I feel I must do one day is get The Nightmare Before Christmas on Broadway...
