… And then it happened.
The walls broke and the water came flooding in. Brick and wood splinttered alike, trees were uprooted, and cherished objects of devotion washed away.
Years from now splinters will still be getting raked out of fields, and foundations will be laid for buildings to come, but for now on all horizons there is only water.
Currents filled with remnants of a civilization killed off by the flood.
Never will they get to see the purpose of the altars they built.
Never will they get to walk the roads they paved.
Months from now there will be only empty barren fields.
Glass smooth, but for the occasional splintered trunk of a tree.
History has been shattered and washed away.
And it all started with a kiss.
