Gabe!
Sundays normally bored Nikki. Being a 7th year, she had no classes the next day so it didn't feel very special. It just felt like a very boring day most of the time. Most of her other friends spent the day making up homework that was due for their first Monday class.
To make it even worse, it was raining outside. Nikki hated that about April. Even though it was supposed to be a warm, happy month Nicole found it to be damn and dreery. At least in the winter she could play in the snow or in the summer she could dance in the rain. April was in the middle and she couldn't do anything.
The girl sighed and turned the corner. To make the day even worse, Nikki found herself face to face with none other than Gabe. Within seconds, Nikki's eyes went wide and her palms went sweaty. Gabe made her nervous. Nervous in a way no other boys had ever made her nervous. Maybe it was because she didn't know where she stood with him and that made her unsure of herself. Or maybe it was because Nikki really wanted Gabe to like her so she tried extra hard.
Either way, Nikki found herself searching for something clever or cute to say. Something that would intrigue him and make him want to talk to her.
"He-hello," she managed.
