Lunch was nice today, better than usual, mostly because it was about an hour later than normal so
drag_on_king and I had aquiet and rather calming lunch hour with a very tasty lunch that she packed this morning as I was getting ready for work. We watched some first season Buffy the Vampire Slayer and chatted.
I have learned from experience that what one eats really does affect how you feel. Last week was rough, but Monday everything seemed to change and has continued to be going well. This is in conjunction with a trip to grocery store where many fruits and veggies were purchased along with other healthy foods. I am taking an herbal supplement since the study drug I was on was making it next to impossible to maintain or lose any weight and in the course of 2 months managed to add about 25 pouds....yeah not happy about that at all, but its a side effect. So, with the supplements it is at least keeping me from gaining more. My ankles are not doing so well, so exercise has been not the easiest to do. I am hoping to go for a bike ride tonight and want to develope a routine for myself so that I am exercising at least 3 times a week.
I have kept my cell phone next to me all day yesterday and today, I know I shouldn't hold my breath and get my hopes up about getting cast in the first show I audition for after a 4 year hiatus, but I thought I had a really good audition and old habits are hard to break. One thing I am changing this time though is that I will NOT give in and just settle for tech roles. Yes I may volunteer to help with the run of a show here and there, but I am going to focus on performance this time around. Which also is an incentive to loose weight. I want to at least get back to the weight I was in college and my goal is to get lower than that. I want to be castable in a variety of roles and not have to hold my breath about directors' body type quirks, although I know I will run into it no matter what my body type.
I looked at the Guthrie Theatre's website and have found several classes I really want to take. Acting, dialect and auditioning classes with instructors who have performed on Broadway and in professional theatre and graduated from places like Julliard! I will eventually finis my degree, but I am thinking I may change it to a BFA through the U of M if it is possible.
Well, I should finish up the last of my follow ups today. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday.
