Something I noticed: Compare Ianto's gun stance from Combat- looking nervous, both hands, more full on to the one in CJH- determined, turned sideways (like Jack taught Gwen to do) and one-handed. He gained weapon experience between the episodes?
Could be. He also gained a gun in between Day One and Cyberwoman in the tourist office. So Carys escaping prompted Jack to let him have a gun upstairs and he has to have training at some stage.
There is also that the stance in Combat is the one that is used by the rest of the team out on missions. The stance opposite Owen is more when you are one on one against someone. Two different situations, so you do act differently in those in respect to holding a gun. Betcha Jack enjoyed teaching Ianto though :)
