well i tried going to sleep around 12:00am and i was laying in my bed all cozy. then i looked over at my alarm clock, having yet to get any sleep, and it was 2:00am. so i thought, maybe i'll play the guitar a little and it'll help relax me so i can get to sleep. and yet another hour magically passes by. well, then i thought that there was no use in sleeping because i've tried this before and it only leads to me not waking up in time for class. so i decided that i'm just going to stay up until i have to go to class and maybe it i can stay awake all day it will fix my screwed up sleeping habits. but that's unlikely.

in the wee hours of this fine morning so far, i got to see some interesting shows. i'm so pleased with vh1 these days. i remember bach when i was a youngin' that they were just a mtv wannabe. well they still kinda are but they've found a niche of their own. their "i love the (insert decade)" series is just genius. it's very hard to get any work done with "i love the 90's" premiering this week. but this morning i discovered yet another pretty cool show produced by the channel. "true spin" i think it's called. it tells the true story behind popular songs. like "mr. jones" by the counting crows for example. everyone thought it was about the guy's penis but really it was about him and an old bass player of his, whose last name is jones, wishing they were cool enough to pick up these two girls at a bar. but my favorite story is that of alanis morisette's "you oughta know". isn't it ironic (haha, i'm so clever) that morgan and i were just discussing that song awhile ago and how it was about the guy who played uncle joey on full house and how she must've gone done on him in a theater. (since it was in the lyrics and all and the lyrics were autobiographical) well, good ol' alanis has never admitted that it was about him specifically but all evidence points to good ol' uncle joey. that's something nice for the kiddies. i bet the majority of the male population would like the olsen twins to take a lesson from uncle joey, alanis, and their theater days.

my so-called life was on at 4:00. it good episode. then again, they're all good episodes. this morning's was the christmas one, in which rickie got beaten up by his dad and didn't have a place to stay but angela's parents didn't want to take him in because they didn't really know rickie and what was going on. and angela gave her boots to a homeless girl who really turned out to be an angel. and rayanne and sharon bonded while they volunteered for the teen help line and brain called in as a kid named steve b/c he was lonely since his parents left him . well it all ends up well with them in church listening to a quartet of women singing christmas songs. and the homeless angel watching over them. so sweet.

i'm getting sleepy now. but going to sleep at this moment i think would be a bad idea.
