Procrastinating By Musing About Procrastination

Oct 23, 2004 22:23

It's as though I'm watching myself from the outside.  "How long will she procrastinate?"  Seriously.  It's awful enough that I didn't finish grading the speeches yesterday.  To not finish today either is ludicrous.  I have 8 1/2 speeches to go, and I'm sitting here contemplating watching one of my new $5.99 DVDs from Best Buy and going to bed.  So ( Read more... )

I am SO right there with you.

Like, I keep picking up Dwight MacDonald, and reading a sentence, and becoming instantly so bored that I have to turn on the television or fall asleep right there. But I've separated out the articles I'm using! That's... something. At least I know which ones I don't have to read.

That's more than I've done, which is nano mucho. Only I can't spell, but it's funny anyways.

Becoming instantly bored, that's exactly it. Which questions did you pick?

#3 and 4. I think those are really the broadest, which means I can pick and choose which articles to use. Which is good, since there's no way I could read all the ones I've skipped at this point. #3, in particular, only asks for analysis of two or three of the authors we've read.

I'm thinking I might go work at the library tomorrow. They have no TV, and I think that might be good for me.

How was dinner, by the way?

Oh, that is so definitely my thinking on the subject. I, too, noticed that #3 only requires me to read 2 or 3 authors. Convenient, that.

I was also considering the library tomorrow. My TV isn't as dangerous for me, without cable, but my computer is the devil. Hence the possible removal of my wireless card.

Dinner was fun. We went to a Mexican place I've never heard of and now I have yummy leftovers. Plus, one of the guys is a big Joan of Arcadia fan, and he and I had fun chatting about media stuff for the rest of the night (he's in Rhetoric). He has 80 papers to grade this weekend, which makes me feel pathetic for not wanting to grade my piddling 23.

Yes, but does he have a paper to write and Secretary to read? I bet not.

In other news, kill me now. [whaps head on desk]

Bwah! I find that incredibly amusing. I think it's the visual, and the sound of your head thwapping on the desk. I tried to find that desk at World Market today, btw. No dice.

And the Secretary broke my heart! Just as expected!
