Actual Cleaning and a Sunny Afternoon to Play With

Sep 16, 2006 14:37

I am accomplishy today!  I cleaned up my room, did the dishes, cleaned off the kitchen table, and vacuumed the kitchen, hallway, library, living room, and my room.  GO ME.

I am also going to the World Music Festival later today, on the Terrace.  I'm invited to the "VIP" section for alumni who have studied abroad.  Isn't it social of me to be getting out there?  That doesn't start until 5:30, and I was planning on going early to pick up a book from the library (the first copy of which, thank you very much, had actually ARRIVED at the Journalism Reading Room where I requested it, but no one told me, and they're closed on weekends, and I need to read this for Monday night, and also argh).  Then I felt the accomplishment coming on, and I had to run with it.

Now, it's a beautiful, gorgeous afternoon, and I'm torn.  I am inspired to go jeans shopping, because my current selection is pathetic (one pair that fits, two pair that start out okay in the morning but are falling off by evening, and two pair that are pretty much falling off all day, and one pair that fits but is uncomfortably tight).  Oh, and a pair that fits really well, but is unfortunately hacked to death from filming rm_renfield's Production project last year (I was an 80s punk, remember?).  They're a bit too breezy now, so to speak.

I also need to go birthday present shopping.  If I go to Ragstock, I could accomplish both on State Street.  Tempting.  I'm not looking forward to driving anywhere, as I believe it's Game Day and traffic will, by definition, blow.

I love LOVE the wind coming through my window like this, and the sound of the trees blowing.

See, this is why I need to keep up with LJ posting.  It makes me reevaluate and appreciate things I forget sometimes.  You all must yell at me if I fall out of the habit again.  I've had a sore throat since last night, and still I am happy.  I've been drinking water like a fish, but it never makes my throat feel any less dry.  Doesn't hurt if I don't breathe, but that solution didn't really stick.  I cringed and swallowed a serving of Emergen-C, which has, like, a thousand percent of the Vitamin C I need for the day and will supposedly help.  We'll see.  I actually ate soup for lunch, which I never do.  And I've been sucking on a juice box while cleaning.

And yet!  Cheerful.
