Love of the Dancings
I want Dirty Dancing to happen to me, damn it. The Havana Nights version was on Showtime today while the baby napped, and while it's no The Original, I still like it. I still go back at the end and rewatch certain scenes (if nothing else, it's fun to play "Spot the Australian Accent Peeking Through"). While Patrick Swayze's cameo is cheesy and shoenhorned in and makes me watch through my fingers, I love that they have him doing the dance from the Sheldrake when we first see him. And I love that only people like me will notice!
I would be AWESOME at that storyline if it could just happen to me in real life. I would totally appreciate it more than those characters do. I need to find a guy who will teach me Afro-Cuban-Latin-Dirty dancing and twirl me around in a swirly skirt. That's all. Is it so much to ask?
