Tune up the fiddle, let's dance some more

That's like, my fourth wrong number today.  Someone's giving out my number!

The Stardom comps again went pretty well.  I don't think I forgot anything vital, and I referred to six articles and a book, while the question only mentioned two authors.  I win?  We'll see.

Late lunch by the lake with rm_renfield after that, followed by a leisurely walk "home", which involved a stop for ice cream at The Cow Place, lolling about on the Capitol lawn, and a teensy bit of shopping.  I got two nifty hanging lantern thingies, one for $5 and one for $2.50.  I was practically obligated to buy them at those prices!  And I spent the extra 94 cents to get pretty colored index cards for my Culture Industries exam Monday.  The Big One. That prof, he's a wily one.  He could ask me anything!

I've been listening to my favorite song about birthdays today.  "Cut the Cake" by somebody, on one of the MPR Morning Show Keepers CDs.  So nice!  The little boy who thinks they forgot his party, but it's really a surprise one, then he grows up, and he's 92, and they throw him another party, and it's all so heartwarming. It's been a lovely birthday.  I got sneakers, a plane ticket to WriterCon, Gilmore Girls S5 (omgluke/lorelaiSQUEE), a grown-up bottle of wine, a corkscrew (long story), a yummy-smelling candle, Legos, and two months of paid LJ time (you're awesome, romanyg!).  The Lego set totally reminds me of the first set I had as a kid, which turned out to be the reason erinlyn1980 picked them out in the first place!  Ooh, and $5 from the grandparents - that's ice cream for me baby, right there.

Plus, all my LJ friends have been wonderful.  I got almost two dozen well-wishes today.  You guys all rock!
