Lovely weekend at home with the fam. Serenity was
awesome - it was a new print, and the image quality was much
improved. I realize that I never posted my account of the last
screening. Whoops.
The four-hour drive to MN took seven and a half hours instead.
Mr. G and I spent two hours going four miles. In 95 degree
weather. With no air-conditioning. I nearly cried, but I
managed to barely keep it together. Apparently some woman crossed
the median and flipped a semi, closing down I-94 from 7 a.m. to
noon. Nightmare.
That little fun helped us hit rush hour when we finally reached the
Twin Cities. I can't tell you what kind of cheery mood we were in
by then. I walked in the house and hissed, "Don't touch me!" when
my unsuspecting sister came to give me a hug. I was very very
very hot. Also, I am not loving the crazy hormone ride of this
new medication. I feel like a crazy pregnant lady on a sitcom
episode based on crazy pregnant lady hormones. I can only imagine
what I'll be like when I'm actually pregnant someday!
We had a great time at the zoo, though. It was The Niece's first time, and she loved it. She is such a cheery kid. Mr. G got to meet
suntrails and her Sir for the first time, when we all had drinks downtown. Fun all around.
And now I'm back at work, luxuriating in the air conditioning after a
very humid mile walk here. I've set my AC at home to full blast
and closed the bedroom door so that even though the rest of the
apartment will be unbearable, I will at least have one oasis of comfort.
Dude, I need to change out my icons. I've had this set up for
months. The problem is that I'm rarely on-line on my own laptop,
now that I can spend so much time on-line at work. Maybe I'll
start saving new icons on-line somewhere instead of my hard
drive. In any case, You Are All Weirdos.
Hee! The "Buffy Park" mood icon for "hot" is Faith!
As I am days behind on my flist reading, I don't know if this has
already made the rounds, but I'll post it just in case. It's a
nifty little survey on blogs for someone's PhD dissertation at MIT
Media Lab.
