Год начался с приятного - с публикации моего самого любимого проекта и короткого интервью в голландском онлайн журнале Stek. http://stekmagazine.nl/
Для тех, кто по каким-то причинам не знает голландского, прилагаю изначальный вариант интервью на английском
С наступившим 2015, кстати!)) Не знаю у кого как, а у меня на этот год наполеоновские планы!

1. Could you tell us a little bit about your background (education, family, where you live)

I am an interior designer from St.-Petersburg, Russia. I have been living here for more than ten years now. Originally I'm from Kamchatka(this is Russian Far East region). I studied interior design in St.-Petersburg university of technology and design.

2. Could you describe some projects you did and how you work

During my six years' period of studying I designed A wide range of projects: from little studio apartments to the large scale conception of the new airport in my native town, which became my graduation project. Now the mane interest in work for me is developing little spaces.

3. Could you tell us for who you designed this project? Who lives there and what specific ideas did they have?

This project was made for a single woman, whose children have already grown. There were no specific ideas, just a few requests, such as a stationary bed(not a transforming couch) and kitchen area separate from living room. That was all.

4. What was the main challenge to develop this small space? Did you change things?

The main challenge was to place all that one person needs for living, and make it as invisible as possible. For example, by building the wall in which a sliding door could go inside. Also I changed a bit the hall-to-kitchen entrance by adding the wall. This allowed to hide the fridge and the closet for appliances.

5. Can you describe the style you used and what materials you like to work with.

I can't say that I was pursuing specific style working on this project. All decorative decisions were a logical continuation of the final layout of the apartment, where you can hardly imagine classic style for example. I would say that Scandinavian approach could be chosen as the determing style in this project.
