Star Trek Rec - Kirk/Spock
Yes, you read that correctly - I'm reccing Kirk/Spock. Not a pairing I usually read, but then I find myself reading just about any pairing when it is written by the fabulous author helenish. The woman got me to read Draco Malfoy/Neville Longbottom for petesake!! She can make me like any pairing, apparently.
Anyway, the story is Your First Time Should Be Special - it's reboot!Star Trek and contains the cliche 'Spock's a virgin.' I like the author's explanation of why Spock's a virgin and I love Kirk's voice in this piece. I think she captured the nu!Kirk's voice pretty well and there's plenty of humor (like all of Helen's stories) and understated romance.
And if you like Harry Potter at all you have to read her HP fic - it's unlike any other HP fic out there. And the Sports Night fic (and I didn't even like that show) is good...so here's the link to her website. And I'm currently reading an Inception/Viking fic that's pretty good so far, too, which is on her livejournal (link above).
