*I’m switching up the episode, Insensitive, a bit just one scene. And one character will be… “different”*

Still unable to figure out what was wrong with the patient, House decided to “ask” Cuddy’s opinion for the third time that night. Cameron had left earlier, claiming that she was needed, didn’t say where, but asked for them to page her if something came up. House hadn’t pushed her on the subject, considering she’d leave anyway, just like she walked out during the differential. Grabbing his coat, he took the patient’s file and went back to Cuddy’s place.

Standing outside her door, he knocked with his cane, but there was no answer. He couldn’t hear any movement inside and peeked through the window, and it was obvious that no one was home. Pulling out his cell he called her. No answer. Second time, no answer. They always say that third times a charm and she finally picked up.

“What do you want, House,” asked an annoyed Cuddy.

“Where are you? You need to check out this file again so you can approve another test.”

“Just do whatever you think you need to do.”

“Really? Wait ‘til Foreman hears you agreed to a lobotomy.”

“What?!?!”

“You sure you want to ignore me?” After a long sigh she said, “I’m at the diner again. Hurry up.” Smirking to himself, he got on his car to interrupt her evening AGAIN.

Parking on the curb, he walked in and spotted them sitting at a table. Pulling up a chair, he sat right next to Cuddy’s date, looking over at him and smirking. Acting the same as before, pretending to be interested, he turned to Cuddy who was burying her face in her hands.

“Soo…you guys going for round two?” Cuddy couldn’t believe this was happening and shook her head, embarrassed, avoiding everyone’s gaze. Of course House wasn’t through and continued, leaning a bit towards her date, “I mean come on, a rack like that, who wouldn’t want to play some more? Besides, babies aren‘t usually conceived on the first try.”

“House.” Cuddy’s tone was low as she shot him a warning look.

“Well they can, but-”

“House.”

“Hey, if a woman’s willing to put out on the first date, she’ll obviously do it again and what moron wouldn‘t take advantage that?”

“House!”

“So do I get a turn? We can skip the coffee.” Cuddy’s date hadn’t said a word, but was clearly taken aback by House’s behavior. Looking from House to Cuddy, he stood from his seat and held out his hand to House, “It was interesting to say the least, Dr. House. Lisa I should probably get going.” House watched the exchange, enjoying the way Cuddy tried to convince him to stay, but then something else caught his attention as he turned to a waitress on the other side of the diner.

Cameron was taking a couples order, when House noticed her, but she apparently didn’t recognize him staring from across the room. Curiosity got the better of him, and trying to make Cuddy feel uneasy suddenly bored him. Rising from his seat he said, “You two have fun. I have to get going. Patient.”

“Wait. What did you need me for,” Cuddy asked as she watched him limp away.

“Nothing. It’s just fun to make the devil squirm.” She rolled her eyes and watched House walk out then stood to leave.

After seeing Cuddy drive off, House limped back inside, sitting at a table by the entrance watching Cameron serve other people. It intrigued him. Why would Dr. Allison Cameron need a second job and on top of that, a waitress? Just another piece to the puzzle. Another waitress had stepped in his line of view asking him if he’d like anything which he didn’t and apparently this was one of those places where you had to order something or leave.

Waiting, he stood outside looking through the window, shivering while studying her movements. In a waitress uniform, she was still incredibly sexy and instantly brushed that thought aside. Twenty minutes later, Cameron put on her coat and walked out the side door, House moving to meet her. When she saw him, she quickly buttoned up her coat to cover up the outfit.

“What are you doing her,” House asked, “I thought your services were needed at the hospital.”

“Am I not allowed to have coffee while I work?”

“Riiight. That’s why your hands are coffee free. Unless you’ve found another place to stash it and that I’d like to see.”

“I forgot my wallet and now I’m heading back to the hospital.” House lifted an eyebrow trying to make her uncomfortable through his stare. Cameron figured that he knew considering the smug look on his face and that pissed her off.

“Were you watching me House? Cuddy too busy tonight so you had to bother me?”

“Yeah, you caught me. Instead of trying to save a patient’s life, I chose to spy on my immunologist who is needed as a part of the diagnosis.”

“I’m going.” She started walking to her car but House continued to find the answers.

“Why do you work here?” She kept walking to her car as he followed.

“Money.”

“No kidding. Why?” Whipping around, House stopped looking down at her, amused at Cameron’s impatience.

“I work because what I make now isn’t enough. There are things I need to take care of and in order to do so, I need to make some more money on the side. You happy now House?! Is that good enough for you?!” House didn’t say a word just held up the file to change the subject. Snatching it from his grasp she flipped through it as they discussed what he had come up with. Cameron threw it back at him and they went back to the hospital.

Another patient saved, icky tapeworm. It was Valentine’s Day when Wilson and House went out for breakfast.

“You hate this place,” Wilson said while taking off his coat at the diner Cameron happened to work at.

“Do not. It’s food ergo I like it.”

“Last time we came here you complained that your sandwich was soggy and swore that the cook spit in your drink.”

“Yes. That was lunch, this is breakfast.” Wilson’s gaze moved to the side, a confused expression on his face.

“Hey is that Cameron?” House looked over, pretending to be surprised.

“Wow, who knew?”

“Apparently you did. That’s why you wanted to come here? You wanted to give Cameron a hard time?” Before House could respond, a waitress came over, pouring coffee into their cups and asking if they were ready.

“Actually is there an Allison Cameron on duty this morning,” House asked as politely as he could with a smile. The waitress raised an eyebrow at him, “If she is, she’s probably busy waiting other tables.”

“Yes, of course, but I’d like to see my wife. It is Valentine’s Day.”

“Your wife,” asked the waitress. House nodded and she said she’d have her come over. House watched her talk to Cameron who looked over then shaking her head.

“Your wife House,” Wilson asked.

“Hey, she obviously wasn’t going to bring her over. She thought I was some creep.”

“You are some creep. Why are we-”

“Good morning Dr. Wilson, House.” Cameron filled two cups of water and asked if they knew what they’d like as she pulled a pad and pen from her pocket.

“Eggs, scrambled and two slices of wheat toast. Thanks Cameron.” She smiled at Wilson and then she turned to House.

“You?”

“I don’t know yet. Could you give me another minute?” Cameron shot him a glare which he returned with a smirk. As she turned to walk away, Wilson took hold of her arm. House eyes went straight to their point of contact and he looked up, glaring at Wilson who was smiling up at Cameron. He looked between the two and couldn’t help the small wave of jealousy that took over. House was about to say something, but Wilson interrupted him,

“House will have macadamia nut pancakes with blueberry syrup, white toast, hash browns, and scrambled eggs.”

“Is that good for you,” Cameron asked and House nodded, staring at Wilson who was watching Cameron walk away.

“I saw that.” Wilson’s head shot up.

“Saw what?”

“You like her.” Wilson started fidgeting in his seat, rubbing his mouth then leaning forward,

“I do not.” Smirking, House looked away, and laughed a little at the satisfaction of finding out his secret then turned back to Wilson,

“You’re lying.” Wilson took a sip of his coffee then put his hands together.

“Just don’t say anything. We’ve been dating for a couple weeks.” House’s eyebrows rose in shock.

“A couple weeks, meaning two weeks.”

“Yeah. We can talk about it later.”

“Did you know that she worked here?”

“No I-,” Cameron came back and filled their coffee cups a little more.

“Oh House. Cuddy was here earlier and got herself a muffin…alone. So I’m guessing you still got a shot.”

“That information would be useful if I actually cared.” Cameron was about to respond before Wilson interrupted her,

“Bull. Last night, you found lame medical excuses to interfere with her date. You soo like her.”

After breakfast, House sat on his couch watching tv. He was curious about Wilson’s relationship with Cameron. It didn’t make sense. Why did it bother him? He should be happy for his friend. Trying to figure it out he decided that it was the fact that it wouldn’t be fair to Cameron to be wife number four. She deserved better.

Ouch. Dissing his friend.

Well that’s fine, they could do what they wanted; he was okay with it. There would be no interfering. . . Yeah right.
