Pink -- Happy
Michael couldn’t stop staring at her mouth.
Soft; pink. Lips curved upward in a tentative smile.
“It’s hard to believe I’m here.”
The dress; the make-up; even the hair. Perfect for the Nikita he now sipped wine with. She’d come so far.
“I feel-“
“Go on. Say it.” He wanted to know. Wanted to hear the words for himself before he destroyed her world forever.
“Happy.”
Nikita’s smile grew tremulous; still hopeful, before fading away into stark fear.
The gun was real. And Michael was leaving her behind; with shaking hands and pink lips that would smile no more.
Title: Empty
Characters: Michael, Nikita
Prompt: Colorless
Word Count: 100
Rating: PGish
Spoilers: through mid-Season 1.
Colorless -- Empty
Flaxen hair; blue eyes in a pale face; dingy gray in the sewer under the street.
A beige trench coat with an ever-widening patch of dark red. The color of rust; old and useless. The color of death as the life seeps away from Nikita’s first kill.
She pulled the trigger to save my life. Her face is blank; her gun slips from nerveless fingers.
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. Please let that not be true, for when I look into Nikita’s eyes they are devoid of color. Empty.
Was my life worth Nikita’s soul?
