Summary: ”My mom wants you to come over for Christmas...” Soohyun suddenly said one late afternoon a few weeks before Christmas.
A/N: I started writing this on Christmas Day, but because of all the candy and food I ate I got ill and wasn't able to post it up. But... I post it now... a little late. But people seem to be very busy around this time of year anyway.... sooo... hope you like it ... hahaha... sorry for being late. And this is rushed too. So excuse errors.
”My mom wants you to come over for Christmas...” Soohyun suddenly said one late afternoon a few weeks before Christmas. They were Christmas-shopping, something that Kiseop actually enjoyed. Soohyun wasn't particularly fond of shopping, but he couldn't say no to the pretty boy. Kiseop was happy, he was going to spoil his friends and family this year. Right now he was hunting for a present to Kevin. Kiseop looked up from the scarf he held in his hand, he was still wondering if Kevin might like it in red or in blue.
“Really?” Kiseop only said, his voice soft with a light tinge of surprise to it. “Do you want me to come then?”
Soohyun blinked lightly. What kind of question is that? If he had dared he would've asked him to come and spend the Christmas instead. But this year he was lucky and his mother had already asked him to invite the ulzzang over.
“Well... yeah...”
Kiseop stared at him in silence for a while and then picked up a gray scarf.
“I think that Kevin would go well with a gray scarf. Now... what to buy for Kibum.”
“K-Kiseop... Will you come? I know my mom will be disappointed if you don't...”
“Then will you?”
“What?”
“Will you be disappointed if I don't show up?”
“Of course I will be disappointed, I would love to spend my Christmas with you.”
Kiseop suddenly turned around to the other and gave the other a stunning smile. Soohyun couldn't help but find Kiseop adorable and he bet that the some of the girls working in the store was about to faint because of that lovely smile.
“I'll make sure to come then. But promise that you come to my house first on Christmas Eve and I'll come to you place on Christmas Day, ok?”
Soohyun just nodded, he would stutter if he spoke up. Kiseop was just so damn lovely and he wanted to devour the younger right now. He was so beautiful. Kiseop cheerily continued with his Christmas shopping, asking Soohyun what his sister would like to get for Christmas.
“You still didn't bought him anything?” Kibum asked suddenly, his voice shocked. “I thought you had bought his present a long time ago since you're his boyfriend. I thought you knew what to get him...”
Soohyun whined a little bit and buried himself underneath his book. They were at the school library, studying for their last test before Christmas, they would get off from school the very next Monday.
“I know... I know I should know what to give him...” Then he glared at Kibum. “We're not a couple yet...”
“You're... not a couple? Are you sure? Because you sure act like one... Your mother even asked him to come and spend Christmas with your family. You spend all your free time with him. He's hanging around your house, even if you're not there... According to Kevin... Kiseop talks a lot about you too... You basically know everything about him too... and you do rant about how awesome he is at random occasions. The only part you're missing out on is kissing, sex and stuff like that.”
“He's just a friend...” Soohyun tried.
“Just a friend? Try a better lie, hyung. You know you love him.”
Soohyun sighed. There was no reason for him to try and lie about it to Kibum. His best friend had known him for way to long to know when he was lying and not lying.
“Alright... fine. I do love him... And because I love him so much... I want him to get the best present ever... hence the problem in finding one that he deserves.”
“Why don't you confess?”
“What?”
“Kiseop-ah seems like the type that would love couple-rings. Why don't you get him one and one matching for yourself?”
“You... think he would like that? I mean... since... we're not a couple... wouldn't it be weird? What if he only sees me as a friend and rejects me?”
“He wouldn't... trust me.”
In the end Soohyun went through with Kibum's plans and decided to get himself and Kiseop couple-rings. So he stole one of Kiseop favorite rings to get the right size. Kiseop was of course devastated when he couldn't find his most priced accessory. He whined to Soohyun about it for two days until Soohyun could sneak it back into the younger boys room unnoticed. Kiseop didn't even suspect a thing. The couple rings would be finished a week before Christmas. The only thing left now was to buy so much other presents to spoil the ulzzang with so he wouldn't get even more suspicious when Soohyun was not sneaking around with his gifts. This time, it was easier to find presents, because he was positive that the younger would love the ring he had bought him. So now he only bought stuff to spoil the pretty boy.
As Christmas was approaching Soohyun got more and more excited. His Christmas Eve was going to be spent around Kiseop and his family. Kiseop had told him about how his noona was coming home for Christmas and that he was so excited to see her again. Soohyun could only smile at the younger as he ranted about his sister. He knew that Kiseop would never admit that he missed his sister like crazy.
Christmas Eve was silent and nice. Kiseop's parents had met Soohyun several times before and they seemed to be happy to have him around. Kiseop's mother had prepared a lot of food and it seemed as if Kiseop had told her about all his favorite food, since a lot of it were there. Kiseop got several rounds of teasing from his older sister and the Christmas presents were handed out since Kiseop was going to spend the whole Christmas Day at Soohyun's house and it seemed as if Kiseop's sister had some other plans too. Soohyun was surprised to see that he had a bunch of presents under the tree too. He didn't expect Kiseop's parents to get him presents. After opening their presents, they watched a movie and played some games before Kiseop's dad drove them over to Soohyun's house. Kiseop had brought two huge bags with presents with him and he was all smiles as they were welcomed by the door by Soohyun's friendly mother. Kiseop loved to stay around his hyung's house. And this would be the first time meeting Soohyun's older sister too. He was looking forward to it.
“Kiseoppie... We'll have to share bed tonight... my sister is using up the spare bed... Unless you want to sleep on the couch...”
“It's alright. I can share.” Kiseop spoke softly. He was smiling at his hyung.
“Can I borrow the shower?”
“Of course...”
Kiseop disappeared to take a shower and Soohyun decided to go and chat with his mother and sisters while waiting for the younger so they could go to bed, it was already very late. Soohyun put out the presents that Kiseop had brought so they lay neatly under the Christmas tree. When Kiseop was done with his shower, Soohyun kissed his mother and sisters goodnight and disappeared into his bedroom to get ready for bed. He was changing into his pajama when Kiseop came inside to the room.
“Ah.. it feels good to be clean.”
Soohyun smiled and turned around to look at the now half naked boy in front of him. How he adored that body. The milky white skin, his arms which showed that the younger did indeed work out (along with his abs). His face was beautiful too. How could there be a human being so beautiful as Kiseop? He was lovely and Soohyun wanted to kiss all visible skin there was. Kiseop was flawless, he was not called ulzzang for nothing.
“Aigo... you're gonna catch a cold running around with no clothes and wet hair.. Come here.”
Kiseop complied and Soohyun put him on a chair, wrapped a blanket around the younger and then he rushed around the room to find the hairdryer. After some searching he came back and carefully dried Kiseop's dark hair. Kiseop practically purred in delight because of all this special treatment. He loved the attention he got from his hyung. Soohyun made sure his hair was completely dry before he let the younger get into his pajama and crawl under the bedsheets. Soohyun turned off the lights and got into bed too. There was a limited amount of space, but Kiseop didn't seem to mind being close to Soohyun as the older wrapped his arms around him.
“You're not cold?”
“Not as long as you're around. You're warm hyung.”
Soohyun smiled and kissed Kiseop's forehead before settling down into a more comfortable position.
“Let's sleep for now.”
“Good night.”
“Good night.”
Soohyun was so close to blurt out an 'I love you', but stopped himself in the last minute. It was going to be the surprise for tomorrow.
The woke up to the smell of breakfast and Soohyun's younger sister peeking inside the room.
“Oppa~! It's Christmas~!” She chirped happily. “And mom says that breakfast is ready~!”
Soohyun mumbled something incoherent and turned around to look at Kiseop sleepily. He was still asleep. So beautiful.
“Kiseoppie...”
He whispered softly and caressed his hair. Kiseop was not really a morning person at all. He hated getting up early, something that Soohyun had experienced several times before. Greeting Kiseop in the morning was like committing suicide. If you didn't know how to wake him up. Luckily, Soohyun knew a method to wake Kiseop up and keeping him from getting a foul mood.
“Kiseop~ It's morning...” He continued, his voice warm and soothing. He knew that Kiseop was dead-tired. “It's Christmas Day. We're going to open all the presents today.”
He continued to caress the younger boy's hair. Kiseop still didn't open his eyes.
“Kiseop...” Soohyun smiled. Maybe he should try something new this morning. He leaned in closer and placed a very light kiss on the lips. He'd been longing to kiss him for months. Kiseop's eyes opened slowly and Soohyun smiled and blew cold air into his ear. Kiseop shivered slightly at that but was successfully woken up. He blinked a few times and stared at Soohyun.
“Morning already?”
“Yes. Let's get up... it's time for breakfast.”
“Hyung?”
“Yes?”
Kiseop looked hesitant for a while before his face broke into a smile.
“Never mind. It's... not that important.”
Kiseop had been so sure that the older had kissed him, but as he watched Soohyun afterwards... he felt a little bit hesitant. Maybe he had started to imagine things. There was no way Soohyun would kiss him like that out of the blue. They had never kissed before and Kiseop didn't expect them to kiss either since Soohyun clearly never showed any interest in such things as kissing (while Kiseop was dying to taste those lips).
The day passed in a lovely warmth and a lot of good conversations and laughs. Some of Soohyun's relatives showed up and they had dinner. Kiseop liked seeing Soohyun together with his family. He teased his sisters endlessly... maybe that was the privilege of being the only boy in the family, who knows. He was also wonderful with the small children that belonged to one of his cousins. He played with them and made the twin boys to promise and call him hyung and their older sister to call him oppa. Everything was wonderful and Kiseop loved it. Until... 'He' showed up. 'He' was one of Soohyun's younger cousins and he was particularly close to Soohyun. He chatted with Soohyun, successfully stealing his attention away from Kiseop. Kiseop almost felt jealous when he remembered that morning. He smiled. He bet that cousin of Soohyun's never got that kind of affection from him. One by one all the guests left and in the end it was only Soohyun's family and Kiseop left to open all the presents. Kiseop was excited. He was sure that Soohyun had gotten him something very special. Though... he was showered with gifts, but none of them was that special something that he really felt like he wanted. There was some clothes, a new bag, a hat, some socks, perfume, a few books. It was nothing special... just regular presents, he had wanted Soohyun to declare his love to him or something. Of course he loved all of his presents... and he knew that Soohyun had spent more money on Kiseop than Kiseop actually deserved. Still... he felt a little bit disappointed. But he didn't say anything. But it must've shown on his face because when they were going to bed that night Soohyun looked at him worriedly.
“What's wrong? Was there no good presents?”
“No... it's not that... They were really good... it's just... I... ah... it's nothing really...”
Kiseop didn't see the smile on Soohyun's face as he put away all his presents into one of his bags. He felt disappointed but he didn't want Soohyun to see it.
“Actually... I have another gift for you. But I didn't want to give it to you while my mother and sisters are present.” Soohyun said, his voice filled with so much love it made Kiseop shiver.
Soohyun opened his wardrobe and rummaged through it before he came back out with a very small box in his hand.
“Uhm... Kiseoppie... I've been thinking for a while now...”
“About?” Kiseop asked nervously. He eyed the small box with excitement in his eyes though.
“Us. And... I believe that we've come to a point... where I can't call you my friend anymore... because I would rather call you my boyfriend...” Soohyun bit his bottom lip and handed Kiseop the small box. He closed his own eyes and took a deep breath, hoping that Kiseop wouldn't reject him. He heard Kiseop open the box and then the younger took a few steps closer to him. He forced himself to not open his eyes, because he knew he was going to cry if Kiseop rejected him.
Suddenly he felt how Kiseop slipped one of the matching rings onto his finger.
“I've been waiting for you to say that... Why did you take so long?” Kiseop whined and Soohyun opened his eyes only to witness that adorable pout on his lips. He pulled Kiseop into his arms and hugged him.
“It doesn't matter now. I love you.”
“I love you too. You idiot.”
“Like you're any better.”
“At least I knew I was in love with you a long time before you even realized you had feelings for me...”
Soohyun sighed and kissed him. Something that successfully made him shut up. For the moment at least. Soohyun's poor sisters wouldn't get that much sleep that night.
