”Come on Kiseop... Soohyun's not the only guy in the world...” Kevin tried to comfort his upset friend. He didn't cry though, which worried Kevin. Kiseop was always such a crybaby and it was a good way for him to get all his feelings out. But now... he didn't cry, even though there were visible tears in his eyes.
“He's the only guy in my eyes...” Kiseop sighed heavily and Kevin wanted to kick Soohyun's ass at the moment. He hated to see his friend depressed and he knew that Kiseop's mood was going to ruin the fun weekend he'd been looking forward to the past two months.
“I can kick his ass for you, yes?”
Kiseop couldn't keep himself from smiling. He knew he was being selfish, but the words he had heard coming from Soohyun's lips still stung in his heart. He had started to fall really hard for Soohyun only to have his hopes killed once again. Why did his lovelife always fail?
“Look... Kiseop... Let's just stuff ourselves with candy, ice cream and your mom's apple pie today. And successfully cry our hearts out to some tacky love-comedy.”
Kiseop smiled. Sometimes... Kevin just knew exactly what he needed.
“Sounds like a plan.”
Kibum just rolled his eyes at his hopeless friend. He'd been calling and texting the pretty boy across the street the past hour with no luck. Kibum almost fell out of the couch in shock as Soohyun jumped suddenly when his phone gave out a short tone to tell it's owner that he just got a text. But considering the disappointed look on Soohyun's face he figured that the response to all his desperate tries to apologize to the younger pretty boy had failed miserably.
“He asked me what I wanted... He's still angry...” Soohyun whined, successfully making his best friend even more annoyed with the older.
“No shit Sherlock. Why don't you just woo him with that pretty voice of yours? It'll probably get his mind off your stupid mistake.”
“You mean that I should try and like... serenade him?”
“Why not? It worked on all those girls you dated before.”
“But... Kiseop's not a girl... And he's... not just anyone.”
“It's worth a try. You messed up. Fix. It.”
“You made me mess up...” Soohyun whined as Kibum threw a pillow in his general direction but failed to hit his older friend.
“Call him.”
“He won't pick up.”
“He answered your text and it's worth another try.”
“Point taken.”
Kiseop stared at the phone in his hand as it started to vibrate, playing the tune of one of the many famous pop-songs that Kevin forced upon him. He hated the song to death, but he still had it installed as it reminded him of Kevin and how much Kevin liked the song. It cheered him up when he felt lonely. He stared at the small screen of his phone. Kevin threw him a questioning look.
“Why won't you answer for once? He's been calling you at least 23 times.”
“But... I don't know what to say.”
“Then don't say anything... just answer the damn phone.”
Kiseop sighed and answered. Kevin turned his eyes to the TV-screen again, but Kiseop knew he was listening intently as he turned down the volume.
“K-Kiseoppie?”
Kiseop couldn't help but shiver. Soohyun's voice. It was so beautiful and it drew him mad with want. Kiseop bit down on his bottom lip and let out a whoosh of air he didn't know he'd been holding in.
“Yes?”
His answer was met with a long silence until Soohyun's voice came back. This time in a way Kiseop hadn't even dared on dreaming of hearing. It was a lovesong, Soohyun started off softly, his voice trembling a little bit in the beginning. But as he figured that Kiseop was not going to hang up on him he gained some more confidence and let out the power of his voice which Kiseop hadn't expected. Kiseop shivered in delight. If this was a confession of love, Soohyun successfully swept him off his feet the moment he started singing.
Kiseop was breathless as Soohyun finished the song.
“H-hyung...” He got out, his voice barely a whisper.
“K-Kiseop... do you forgive me?”
“How.. can I not forgive you after that?”
Kiseop could almost hear his hyung smiling through the phone. He suddenly wanted to see that smile. He looked over at Kevin who nodded at him eagerly. He knew that Kevin was going to tease him endlessly after this weekend but at the moment he didn't care.
“Y-You wanna come over? I'll treat you some apple pie.”
“I'd love too. Can Kibum come too?”
“Sure thing.”
“We'll be over in a minute.”
They hung up and when Kiseop had put the phone down and turned to Kevin again said boy was grinning at him like mad.
“That must be one of the most romantic things I've ever witnessed. How come you always score on the sappy ones? That was so adorable...”
Kiseop blushed and smiled shyly.
“I don't know... I'm glad though... I really like him.”
The day was spent in a lovely awkwardness between Soohyun and Kiseop. Kiseop blushed whenever Soohyun got too close. Soohyun started to stutter every time he and Kiseop accidentally touched each others hands or met each others gaze. It was awkward, but it was not uncomfortable. Kibum teased Soohyun endlessly throughout the whole night and Kevin made it worse by persuading them all into singing karaoke. Whenever Kiseop heard Soohyun singing he got goosebumps, and whenever Soohyun was ordered to sing a lovesong, he did it while looking straight at Kiseop throughout the whole song. Kiseop was positive that if he had one more lovesong sung to him by Soohyun his heart was going to explode. This surprising development in his relationship to Soohyun made him both flustered and extremely happy.
Soohyun and Kibum didn't go back until very very late. Kiseop waved them goodbye as Kevin started to clean up the living-room.
“Well... that was a success.”
Kiseop smiled at his friend.
“It sure was. Thanks for making me answer his call.”
Kevin just smiled at him.
“That guy adores the living daylight out of you.”
“No he doesn't.”
“Yes he does, and you know it. He was staring at you throughout the whole night. He wanted to kiss you so bad, I could tell.”
Kiseop hit his friend's arm and laughed.
“Let's get to bed... we have to get up early tomorrow, I wanna snap the perfect shot of you before lunch.”
“I almost forgot how you're still obsessed with taking pictures.”
“I'm not obsessed... I just like the art of photographing... Which reminds me that I have to ask Soohyun-hyung when I can take new pictures of him.”
“You... took pictures of him and didn't even show me? How could you!?”
“He's mine Kev, back off.”
“Meanie.”
“Tsk... I am not.”
“Obsessive loverboy.”
“Oh shut up.”
“Show me the pictures or I'm going to shave your hair off in your sleep.” Kevin threatened as he followed the retreating ulzzang upstairs.
On the late Sunday afternoon Kevin finally went home and Soohyun thought that finally, FINALLY, he was going to have Kiseop for himself. But the younger claimed that he had a big test next week and that he had to study. He didn't get to see the younger until Friday night the next week. Kibum had just left to go home, his mother had called and complained about her son never being home so she could bother him, so Kibum had bid his best friend farewell and then went home. It didn't take longer than five minutes after his best friend had left when there was a silent knock on Soohyun's door. Soohyun being the only one still awake went to open the door. Maybe Kibum forgot anything and had to get back. He was surprised to see Kiseop standing outside.
“Thank god... I thought he was never going to leave...” Kiseop whined and invited himself in. Soohyun was so happy to see him he could barely control himself. He wrapped his arms around the younger as soon as he was inside and Soohyun had closed the door behind the younger.
“I missed you so much.”
“We talk everyday over the phone hyung.”
“It's not the same thing as seeing you.” The older whined and took in the scent of Kiseop's hair. Oh god he had missed the boy so much and they weren't even an official couple yet. Kiseop just sighed and leaned into Soohyun's embrace. He was tired after the long week of studying. Even though he got to the class in the middle of the term he still had to do the finals, which forced him to study like mad for the past week. He still took his time to talk to Soohyun for at least on hour a day, but he had studied so much that he was now sleep-deprived. He realized just how tired he was when he was leaning on his hyung. He had missed Soohyun so much.
“I missed you too hyung. God... I missed you so much.”
“Why didn't you come over? I could've helped you study.”
“I wouldn't be able to concentrate at all hyung.” Kiseop spoke softly as he let go of Soohyun to take off his shoes and his jacket.
“Why is that?”
“Because I would want to kiss you as soon as you'd opened your mouth.”
