(no subject)
The past week has been something like, say, if my worst nightmare had a horrible, horrible love child with the seventh level of hell. There are exactly three people in my entire division that can do my job. Coincidentally, these three people pretty much make up the whole of my division.
Please to be keeping in mind, I am one of those three people.
On Monday, the senior clerk in my division called in sick. For the entire week. And then there were two. Just two of us to face that monstrous pile of work sitting on our desks, mockingly reminding us that it NEEDED TO BE DONE BY THE END OF THE DAY.
So, things are rocky but manageable. Unfortunately, the other girl, who has ten+ years of seniority in the division on me, neglects to tell me that she's taken off Thursday and Friday. Way in advance, so there's nothing that can be done about it now.
And that's how this turns into How Niki Got Fucked In The Ass With No Lube.
For the past two days, it has been me, with only a months worth experience in this new division under my belt, to go up against the piles and piles and piles of paperwork that need sorting, filing, delivering blah blah blah.
But, not all was bad. I really enjoy working under my new supervisor because she seems to not only notice but (wait for it... wait for it...) APPRECIATE when we bust our asses. Because that's definitely what I've been doing. Busting my ass.
As a result, I find myself with five days of vacation, starting tomorrow. And this is my To Do list:
!!! Complete at least five more chapters of Saltwater.
!!! Re-work and finally get around to posting at least three chapters of Lover's Spit, which has been on hold for more than three years.
!!! Revise the last few chapters of Details of the War and finally finishing off that monster.
!!! Do the piles of laundry that have been threatening to engulf me in my sleep.
!!! Another multi-fandom icon post.
!!! Maybe bring myself to do a little cleaning up around the apartment.
!!! Look for condos and maybe go to a few open houses?
