oh livejournal, how i have neglected you!
half the reason is that i'm with my friends now and i dont have to update them via the world-wide web. but the other half? only god knows. i'm greatful that jared and alex have still been taking it seriously. and the entries put up by lyle and cait are also real encouraging. i think we could be at the beggining of a second wave.
well, since i've given up on school, i've had to fill the void. what have i done? thanks to the efforts of dj don rahmadan, i've been getting more and more entrenched in the world of underground hip hop and dj mixes. some guys have some crazy mash ups... taking some great unknown beats and seamlessly mixing them with pretty cool lyrics. you even run into some amazing famous on famous people mixes (amerie vs. lauren hill, bjork vs. david banner, mannie fresh vs. the beatles) and, if they do it right, it sounds damn good. i've also fallen in love with an underground artist named M.I.A. she's a refugee from sri lanka (her dad was a founding member of the tamil tiger movement) that relocated to london. her gutter english slang brings me back to london, and then some. this, along with visits to the union and the admiral and working on the blue chips, have made winter quarter really amazing.
also, i'm gonna be taking a leave of absense next quarter and going to culinary school with mike to learn how to cook. that should also be great fun (and useful). a dinner party (black tie, at erica's suggestion) is going to be necessary.
on a completely unrelated note -- suge's back in jail. here's to you, blood.
