:)

Yeah - I think that a lot of what Derek Jarman did ended up working like a rototiller cracking through hard earth and mixing it up. He broke barriers and set precedents that perhaps are only being glimpsed now. I feel like he's enjoying a rennaissance, though I don't know how much of that impression is colored by my own/our collective enthusiasm.

I think there's good reason to be hopeful. Movies are getting made here that a decade ago were simply unthinkable. Movies here were so bad for so long, it seemed like no one here used scripts anymore. Instead, we had (and sadly still have) "filmakers" like Jerry Bruckheimer and George Lucas for whom post-its were invented so they could write their scenes on them. Who cares if a few stop sticking and fall out of the sequence? It hasn't all changed, but there's some gold among the dross now.

I hope you're able to get your scripts shot and reach your goals. It'd be great for you and then you can hire me to do your PR (my paying job when I'm not writing my historical drivel).

I'm going to follow Gyrate's (aud's) example and try to get a regionless DVD player, which I suppose shouldn't be too difficult. If you end up doing the same, I'm more than happy to swap hard to find DVD's with you.
