--I loved this Chapter more than any other. It really tells you what a damaged creature Emma was raised as. Her father is a shit. Her sister is a nasty bitch (well, Adrienne more than Cordelia, but technically they both are. Hell even Emma is) and here's Emma trying to be cool and kissing a boy under the firework display instead of kissing Emily, because that's what she's expected to do.

And it's soooo much more. Again, loved this chapter!

Absolutely hilarious: “I asked Emily if you guys had had a fight, but she said no, and that you had been really nice to her yesterday, and she probably should have expected a backlash.” He narrowed his eyes. “She knows you way too well.”

“Yes,” he told Emily later. “She’s having a psychotic episode. Don’t worry about it, she’ll come round in a day or so.”

I'm really upset that Emily hit Emma IN THE FACE. So not Fing cool, Emily.

This made me smile: “Fuck,” Emma muttered, barely audibly, not looking at her. “I really wanted to be Danny Zuko.”

I can really see the future of this universe. Emily and Emma keep on coming together and breaking up year after year, until Emma has grown up enough to settle down with Emily. I can just see one day Emma moving in with Emily while Emily's away on a case. And then Emily finally brings Emma to the FBI Family Picnic.

Love the "checkerboard" statement in the A/N. I looked right and was like, "Oh, I get it; I didn't realize 'that' was her system/schedule."
Rugby: fun! If it's you playing, be safe, and if not, don't get run over by Rugby players plowing over the sidelines (or just plowing over the keg)
Good and memorable chapter; Emma's so used to things being messed up that she can't seem to let herself be happy. I also get the 'bragging rights' and how she used that as an excuse and justification, but it makes sense for that teenage check-mark to feel important too.
