I'm very interested in this fic. Not only because of the place (I live near the Luxembourg gardens) and the time, but also because of the characters. It was to be expected, but I am glad to hear about Raven this early in the story. (And I am "assuming certain things about certain people".)
Also, I'm expecting a lot from the plot. I hope that you remember your history classes well! I'm kidding, but the fact that you mentioned Clément de Laverdy is promising... I had to check if he was real or fictional, how did you know about him?

OMG, please don't expect a lot from the plot, or from the setting, because I am so in over my head.

(But it is very awesome that you live near the Luxembourg gardens, I seem to be targeting various readers homes, by complete accident. Its been years since I've been there, but that's where I stayed when I was in Paris.)

I am so reluctant to admit that I found de Laverdy through a wild Wikipedia chase, but it was pretty strange serendipity that led me to him. He was the right time period, the right governmental office, and completely morally ambiguous (highly suspect actually), so he was perfect for my story.
This actually isn't the first time I've managed to find exactly the historical event/character to match what i needed for a story, and they're always far more interesting than anything I could have come up with.

Don't lose faith in me! (Even if I have none in myself.)

How am I supposed to pick a favorite if all of your stories are so damn good?

As a former student of history I feel right at home in the time period with it's politics and prejudices and seeing it through Emily's eyes makes it all feel more real.

I like how Emily's profiling skills come out in away that feels natural and understandable. She's not lost in the trappings of time, and despite the age and setting it IS Emily Prentiss. Even her attitude towards her employer seems right on.

I am practically begging to see Emma at this point. Her voice came across so strongly in the letter and Irene immediatly picks through the words to see what exactly their meaning is.

As for Corporal Darkholme, you definitly have my attention.

Great charecterization in a spot-on historcal setting...so when did you say the next part is going up?

It's always really wonderful to have someone tell you that all the things that you are incredibly worried about are actually admirably accurate characterization elements. So thank you.

I do believe Emma is set to appear in the next chapter, I'm really not going to drag this out, however I can only say that the next part will be up as soon as I write it. I do hope its soon, because I think that I'm just as excited to find out how my bare sketch of a plot will bend and develop as it continues as anyone else!

Thank you for your awesome comments!

Oh I am intrigued! Please place this on your priority list, it's getting very interesting and I want to watch it unravel.

Thank you!

(Although I did have a moment of terror with the word 'unravel' there. I do feel a bit like i am holding the threads of something that might have once been a story.)

You know, I really should have a priority list. Maybe I need another poll. But this one is definitely on it!

I was thinking of your story 'unravel'ing like a ball of yarn as you string me along and I bat at it :P Isn't that how you keep us kitties hooked?

Love the intrigue and mystery of this piece--and the entrance of Corporal Darkholme. Oh Emily, what dubious characters you've fallen in with! And Emma in the next chapter? (sighs in contentment)

I'm impatiently looking for this fic and how the plot will unfold.
Emily's building her "profiling" personality is great, will she have to take sides? What will Emma's stand be, especially that you're throwing Darkholme in the mix?
As for the pairing? You got me so hooked to Emily/Emma that it can only be about them! Right?
I lived for more than fifteen years at Rue St-Dominique and still live in Paris, so.... Update very soon.

Okay, now this is getting scary. I really need to go back to Paris.

But awesome questions. They keep me on track. I am giving away *nothing* about pairings! But it's me... and it's not like it's a secret who I ship. (that Emma/JJ was an aberration!)
