This is great, if you enjoy being dragged facedown across the emotional spectrum. I've read it three times already and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. There are parts that I love. Emily's experience with the Club and how she joined. Ro's assault on the club and Emily wrapped in Emma's cloak, and then there was Emily in an X jumpsuit. Seriously, that would be some GREAT fanservice. I wonder if Paget could be persuaded...

The core of this section is the ladies and their sweet, sour and eternally mercurial relationship. It is masterfully written and I can't stop reading about it. It's such an unhealthy, beutiful, insane love and you can never stop writing about it. Ever.

Gah! This was a fantastic chapter and I think one of the most honest and vulnerable they have been with each other. I too have read this several times already.

It does make me wonder though in this 'canon' (and best) Emma/Emily universe how long they can go on like this. Here, they both lay their cards on the table and I loved that Emily finally said what was on her mind to Emma. And I loved Emma showing some emotion and feeling.

But what next for them that hasn't been said or done before. It doesn't seem likely at the moment that either one of them will compromise.

I know I'm way too invested in this emotionally crippled yet awesome awesome pairing. Please knock some sense into them....

Well, given the way you write this very angst-filled couple, I think this was the happiest ending you could have given it. At least, they were honest with each other. Whatever wasn't said, was implied. They both know that they really can't walk away from each other and they also know that they can't live with each other for too long. At least their relationship is honest, one might say brutally honest. Their relationship may be dysfunctional but they will stay together forever in their own unconventional style

I agree with the aomments above. I have this nagging suspicion, though, that, at this point, if Emma had turned around and said, "None of those things are as important as you." then Emily would eventually walk away anyway - the whole respect/oedipal thing you were riffing at the very beginning of this set of stories.

That's a painful realization, but I do think you're right. I don't even know if it would be 'eventually.' This is Emily taking her power back. She would love an admittance like that, because she could walk all over it. The respect/oedipal thing just makes it worse, because she honestly wants to believe that she is not invested in this. She is not 'in love.' She has said it exactly once, as a manuver to get Emma to shut up. And she still thinks she can recover from all of this, put it behind her at least.
I suppose we can only wait to see if she's right.
