This weekend:
Went downtown to see the tree lighting ceremony and ice skate in the city. Nixed the ice skating when a drunk man stumbled onto the ice and procedded to try to steal children/pull down nearby skaters. Laughed along with the huge security guard at his antics/overall ridiculousness. Also giggled at small children falling on the ice/holding on to walker-type structures while slip sliding like maniacs.
At same event, went on a freebie horse drawn carriage ride around one city block. Short, but I got some "Lovely Weather for a Sleighride Together" warm fuzzy feelings nonetheless.
Next night, we made our way to The North Pole Village at the Erie County Fairgrounds. Saw real reindeer (that smelled like death and snassage, siiiiick) and a pretty real Santa, as well as a reaaaal north pole made of snow. Went on Frosty's 3-D adventure. Bug's lazy eye made him unable to see the 3D, sad story. Ate caramel apples and watched Kandy Kane, the world's largest (cynical) magician elf put on quite a show where he made creepy comments, harassed small children, a hoola hooped with a jingle bell covered ring. Magical.
Made Christmas Cookies of disaster, including Frosty the Headless snowman, Susie the Angry Pagent Christmas Tree, Farmer Dan and Peanut Butter Sam. Delicious.
Watched every Christmas movie ever made.
Ate punkin roll and drank teas heaped on teas.
Also did lots of stupid work and went to a stupid seminar.

Overall, a wonderful Christmas-y weekend with Dougster, J and Bugs.

Now, it's the last week of the semester.
My hair is falling out from stress. I have cataloged 50 childrens books, written 3 essays, created a website to end all websites, am thinking about a powerpoint (but have not started it) am dreading a presentation, and have to organize a packet of observation hours/write up "reflections" of my activities. December 8th will find me either drunk, sleeping, celebrating, comatose, or all four, simultaneously.

Then, I spend the next month at home. Good b/c I see the Dman, bad b/c I live with the rents. Oy.
But, I can't wait for my birthday and christmas. Still at a total loss for a present for D-ster, who insists on buying my ideas for himself. Thrilled for the season and the snow and the holiday and everything....
Meanwhile, back to posting on my Library Privacy blog, counting down till I'm out of work, and counting the days...
