Wow guys. I thought Columbia University was better than this.
If you don't know, the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came to the university to speak. but they didn't even give him a chance. Many students and others, including the president of the university, mocked him and criticized him for his political polities, views on the Holocaust, and his 'nuclear program'.
Let me point out the ironic part of the latter. America is the only country to have bombed any other nation. TWICE.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is claiming that he is merely promoting the nuclear powers program. If the general public aren't as idiotic they seem to be, they'd know that Nuclear power source is a much cleaner source of power than any other types of power plants.
'But duck', you'd ask, 'what if they ARE secretly building a nuclear bomb?'
I don't know about that, but ask Iraq. I mean, we found nothing there, right?
This whole nuclear hype is really bugging me, and the fact that they are heavily criticizing a man just because they are 'assuming' that he is promoting the production of nuclear bombs. We went into Iraq, there was no bomb, and there goes billions of dollars. If Bush administration were to go for another term, and the Iran-nuclear-weapon-program became another media hype, you know what Bush would do, right? Oops, I forgot, we are spending too much money already on a war that's going TOO slow.
Although I personally do believe that Holocaust did indeed happen, you don't call the man an evil person just because he has a bias against the Israelis.
Duck, you say, antisemitism is bad and racist. O?, and accusing the Japanese 50 years ago wasn't racist? accusing American Muslims and putting them in jail really shows off the whole American equality idea, doesn't it?
I honestly think this Iranian president isn't a 'good' guy; however, he is a man, and a really prominent one at that. Many people during the demonstration referred to him as Hitler... do you know how many historians and people in general would love to know what went through hitler's head as he did the things he did? We will never know, but here, we were given a chance to hear out a man American considers 'enemy', and we totally blew it. Totally.
I thought America was more mature, professional, polite, and nicer than this. I'm very disappointed.
