Well, today I've been painting with oils...
This is *almost* the finished version of Walter, the head I've been pactising my sculpting and painting on. I say 'almost', since after I took
these pictures I thought "that's really good, I'll just put a black oil-wash around the hairline and the eyes to finish it off". This DOES NOT WORK with freshly-painted oils! I had to re-work a lot of the face after that little... experiment, and the second batch of photographs didn't come out so well...

this online tutorial as a guide, but didn't pay too much attention, so judge me, not the writer!
I can see where there are problems, especially the eyes, so the head I'm working on as I type this is wearing goggles to avoid that particular issue- I also like goggles. I'll have a look for some decent face-sculpting tutorials, since my 28mm monster-sculpting skills aren't up to 1/20th scale people. Still, practise makes perfect...
