Damn straight.

Took this one for sheer 'wtf' factor, as it seemed to be implying that supporting Kerry was a sin. How that logic got pulled out of someone's ass I'll never know.

Republican flags and anti-Kerry sentiments - only to be expected, I suppose.

But even more so than the anti-Kerry were the pro-Kerry. It only makes sense.

Before being sent through the metal detectors I had to turn my camera on just to prove to the security people that it was not, indeed, a bomb. I snatched the opportuity to take pictures.

This picture will only really mean anything to a few people, but the guy in purple in the middle there is Garrison Keeler, who does the "A Prarie Home Companion" show on NPR. He's amazing. I've grown up listening to that show to and from church every Sunday for as long as I can remember, which makes his voice and humor legendary (in a way) to me.

I liked that shot.

View adjusted, but in the same basic position as the last shot; the full crowd. It gives you an idea of our position at the time, although later on I was able to move up much closer.

Another picture I enjoyed.

The man himself!

Again. The quality isn't very good because the digital zoom on my camera is crap.

After the speech, confetti filled the air. These are a bit more impressive full-size.

The arrow is pointing to where I'm pretty sure Kerry's head is.

!

Wonderful experience and reminded me of the bigger things going on that are happening outside of my personal sphere daily. The whole place was very energetic and seething with life and seeing Kerry in the flesh was amazing. One thing I didn't expect were all of the faintings during the event - at least half a dozen, if not more. Kerry had to stop his speech repeatedly to ask for EMTs in various areas. I'm curious if they will/already did cut that out of the television coverage...stood without moving too much for about four hours though, so the backs of my knees are really pretty sore.

It was most definitely worth it though.
