My goldfish wants to be a DJ! (actually, the poll determined it was Jesus.)
...I hate to be so elitest and everything, but I'm really kind of bothered that Thursday did a cover of Sigur Ros's "Ný Batterí". Just...why?? That's such an amazing song and having a semi-popular American band cover it just seems so wrong to me. Argh. *gnashes teeth* Not that Sigur Ros fans should dictate what other bands cover their songs...I'm just being a purist, I suppose. :|
Anyway. My parents have stopped pushing for me to get a job, officially. I've basically won although I'm not thinking of it in those terms. They've decided that since I'm moving into the dorms September 25th, it's highly doubtful anyone would hire me at this point unless I either lied about college or was hired somewhere with stores in the U-district. Since neither my dad or I want me to have a job first quarter, though, that got ruled out. So they're not going to bother me about it anymore. Big improvement. I'm happy.
There's a new pressure my mom is putting on me, though. She's really been pressuring me about joining the United Presbyterian church up at the U-district and getting a core group at the Inn, which is sort of the college student program there and where my brother went. I guess that shouldn't bother me. I am Christian, but have been having issues with my faith recently and it doesn't help that, at 18, she still feels the need to pressure me into strictly following our family's religion. I don't know. I suppose I should stick with a faith group through college, I'm just not sure I want to. I'm confusing myself on this issue. The only thing I'm certain on is that I'm not liking the pressure. Oh well.
Still bored, but at least Gaia is working today, tomorrow I'm going up to the U again for miscellaneous tasks & my Japanese placement test, and Tuesday I'll get to see Garden State. Now if only I can keep my other days occupied like that...
I really want The Sims 2. Everything about it looks amazing. It comes out on September 17th. :o I'm excited...
