I've taken up watching Naruto Shippuden from the beginning. I've actually been considering it for a while because Naruto, being the anime that truly got me into anime, occupies a very special place in my heart in spite of the fact that it's super long and ridiculous and kinda sorta sexist.
But what has set me over the edge is all this broohaha on Tumblr over the last few episodes involving a certain ship I really like but know very little about. I considered just watching those episodes, but I want to have a full background on what's going on. I think watching from the very beginning is the right way to do it. Even if what I'm really looking forward to doesn't happen for 200+ episodes. Goodbye, countless hours of my young adult life!
As for what I've watched so far, I must say that I totally forgot how talky this series is. Whenever somebody makes a move, there's always this long pause to explain the technique and comment on how strong the opponent is. It's a bit of a drag, really. Alas, I shall persist!
