(Btw, the lyrics in cantonese are quite different from the one in mandarin (well, as expected), but the overall meaning is the same.)
Memories...
I love the "Grasshopers" songs! They are so upbeat and I always smile when I listen to them or watch them.^______^
Admitted, that their dancing is a bit corny for today's standards. But nonetheless I love it!XD (When I was little I often imitated their dances with my brothers, we could remember all their moves.XDD)
Back then, the HK-Entertainment industry was more innovative IMHO. The lyrics of the songs were meaningful and the singers could really sing.
But it just reminds me again that the Golden Age of HK-Entertainment industry is really in the past now...;_;
Btw, there was a quite an active exchange of music between Hong Kong and Japan, many japanese artists have covered Kantopop-songs and vice versa. I can even recall some songs in cantonese with partly japanese sentences or that great japanese singers of that time were invited to sing on stage in HK. Of course, I didn't understand a word that time and I even found japanese awful-sounding.^^;;
