Comments: Wow it's been forever. A couple months I think. I've been really busy with school, but now with my term over it's easier to sort of relax and get this out. I tried writing during the term, but my work took over and I wasn't able to get much done, let alone finished. But here is this now. Hopefully I'll have the ambition to do more before school kicks my ass again. Comments are greatly appreciated! <3 P.S. I feel like this chapter is kind of dramatic. It is also unedited, so fair warning >.>

Chapter 8

Ryouga drug his feet as he made his way up the stairs. He knew that Reno was there, waiting for him on the roof. They had been together long enough for him to be able to read the other. Not all the time, but it was impossible to ever know someone that well, wasn't it? They had been friends before Reno claimed him too. And he did consider it 'claiming', the elder was just like that. If he saw something he wanted, he made it his, one way or another. Eventually, the thing he wanted became Ryouga. But even though Reno had claimed him as his boyfriend, it didn't stop him from going after others either. That's why he never really made a big deal of his cheating. He knew the brunette would do as and who he pleased. Sure he announced his displeasure when they were alone, but it never changed anything. Ryouga figured at this point it didn't really matter anymore. He knew it would only be a matter of time before Reno was tired of the whole relationship facade and would end it, no matter how he felt about the situation. If Ryouga had to be honest, he found it a little disheartening.

His head snapped up and out of his thoughts when he heard the door at the top of the stairs slam closed and hurried, bouncy feet came down the stairs. They stopped at the top of the flight he was ascending with a stomp, causing him to stop mid-step and stare.

Ko-Ki didn't look surprised to see him there, but he was definitely caught off guard. He wasn't sure how to feel around the younger after that weekend. When they met at the park, he never expected to join the redhead at his house. Nor did he anticipate helping him dye his hair that bright shade of unnatural red while boldly agreeing to let Ko-Ki do as he pleased with his own hair. Ryouga didn't have a problem with the change. In fact he thought it turned out pretty good. It was other people he had to worry about freaking out, much like his boyfriend did earlier that morning.

After they both went through their make-overs, they had a pleasant, and fairly unawkward time together. They played games and talked about things Ryouga wouldn't even consider talking about with Reno. He could even admit, it was really fun. He had even gotten over the whole 'Ko-ki is cute' thing through one of their discussions.

"I think your boyfriend hates me," Ko-Ki broke his thought process for the second time, taking a couple slow bounced steps down towards him.

"Not really a surprise," Ryouga grinned at the smaller boy who only laughed. "So he's up there?" The redhead nodded.

"I MAY have said something to piss him off" Ko-Ki said slowly, smiling a bit and scratching his cheek sheepishly.

"Thanks for the warning," the taller laughed as he started up the stairs.

"You aren't going to ask what?" the younger boy was a little surprised.

"Nah. I'm sure it isn't too bad. Besides, he's kind of a drama queen, so he'll blow it out of proportion anyway," Ryouga smiled down at the other now that he had passed him on the steps. Ko-Ki looked at him blankly, as though he was analyzing Ryouga's actions.

The elder was happy the redhead was seeming to trust him with showing emotions other than 'happy' to him sometimes. It wasn't too much, but something is better than nothing right? Though, maybe he was doing it because Ryouga had mentioned at one point that it was really weird the younger acted like that. Ko-Ki never said anything about it, only laughed and changed the subject. He couldn't blame him for being secretive though, it wasn't like he was flaunting his life either.

"Okay then, good luck," Ko-Ki gave a little salute before hopping down the rest of the stairs. Ryouga waved and took a deep breath, ascending the rest of the stairs and pushing the door at the top open.

As expected, Reno was there waiting. He sat on the ledge of the roof, smoking and bouncing one of his legs on the ball of his foot. It was a nervous habit that the older didn't show often. It made Ryouga laugh. It seems whatever Ko-Ki had said really got to the brunette. The laughter seemed to get Reno's attention and he looked up with a frown.

"What are you laughing at?" Reno was about to stand, but the younger stopped him by coming and sitting next to him.

"It's nothing. What did you want to talk about?" Ryouga pulled out a pack of cigarettes to light one for himself. All the smells of smoke were starting to get to him.

"You don't hang out with that freak, do you?" the taller's expression was serious, but Ryouga couldn't help but laugh again.

"That's not one of your more specific descriptions," he played dumb, even though he knew who the other meant.

"Shut up, you know who I'm talking about!" the brunette didn't look pleased. "That idiot that hangs out with Iv all the time."

"They don't hang out that much," Ryouga mumbled as he took a drag from his cigarette. He could feel the disbelieving look his boyfriend was giving him. "Look, I'm not hanging out with him, okay? Why are you so suspicious all of a sudden?" he lied. Though, it wasn't a big one. Sure they spent the weekend together, but he wasn't sure he was ready to have a commited relationship with the younger. And why was he suddenly thinking about it like it was some sort of romantic thing in his head?

"Why am I being suspicious?" apparently a chord was struck in Reno. "I don't hear from you for a whole weekend, and then you show up with your hair completely ruined, and half of your piercings are gone! I have every right to be suspicious!" the older was standing now, glaring down at him. Ryouga returned the look.

"You didn't hear from me, because you never answer your fucking phone when you're with someone else," the dark brunette spoke slowly, anger dripping in his voice. He didn't usually let it show so much that it bothered him, but now, he couldn't help it. It was annoying, and he'd had enough. The look on Reno's face went from rage to shock as he tried to come up with something to say, but Ryouga stopped him. "I told you before, don't waste your excuses on something like this. So who was it this time?"

=========================

Iv paced nervously as he tried to think of what to do. He spent the entire lunch period looking for Ko-Ki, failing miserably. Which is why he nearly squealed when he saw his friend coming around the back of the building. Though he restrained his vocal chords, he couldn't stop himself from running to the redhead and hugging him. The other teen was clearly caught off guard.

"I need help..." The smaller boy pouted, not letting go of his friend.

"What, are you failing or something?"

"Yes."

"Oh? What subject?" Ko-Ki laughed looking at his friend.

"Life," the brunette kept pouting.

"It can't be that bad,"

"You think Ryouga killing me won't be that bad?" Iv looked at his friend seriously.

"Umm...That's not what I meant, but I don't get why he would kill you," the red-head blinked at his friend. Iv didn't like how he was being so oblivious.

"He will kill me! Because of Reno, Ryouga is going to be worse than usual. Way, way worse! Stop acting like it isn't a big deal!" the shorter wasn't happy. Ko-Ki always had a solution right away, no matter what the problem was and now he wasn't being very helpful.

"Sorry Ibbie, it's just hard to react properly when I don't know what you're even talking about." Ko-Ki stated flatly, looking out onto the field. "Besides, a lot of people like Reno, so I don't think he'll kill you just for that."

"What, do you like Reno?" he couldn't help but ask.

"No," Ko-Ki rolled his eyes.

"Oh, right, it's Shin you like," Iv was just being sarcastic now.

"That's disgusting," the redhead didn't even hesitate with his response. "You know who it is I like, stop joking about such vile things."

"Then help me, and I'll never mention Shin again," the older whined, bouncing on the balls of his feet a little. "What would you do if you and Murai were together, and his jealous lover came after you?"

"Okay, first off, that would never happen. And second, what do you mean 'together'?" Ko-Ki was eyeing his friend suspiciously now, and it was making Iv a little uncomfortable.

"Why don't you think it would happen?" the brunette wanted to avoid the other's question. He hoped that Ko-Ki wouldn't ask too many of them.

"Because it won't, trust me. Now answer my question," plan failed.

"Well...you know, together..." Iv answered slowly, looking away and scratching the back of his neck sheepishly.

"He fucked you didn't he," the younger had a slightly disbelieving look on his face.

"W-What?! Why do you say it like that? I could have been on top!"

"You could, but you weren't. Not with how he is." Ko-Ki folded his arms and leaned against the wall next to them.

"And how do you know so much about it huh?!"

"I've heard a few things,"

"Just because you heard them, doesn't mean they are true. I hear things too," Iv knew the rumors about Reno, but he always disregarded them as stories made up by the other students. There were plenty about Ko-Ki and other students too, so they weren't so easy to believe.

"I trust the source..." Ko-Ki responded quitely.

"What, have you been hanging out with Ryouga behind my back or something?" Iv didn't think that it would be possible, until he saw the look on Ko-Ki's face. "KO-KI!!"

"What? It's not a big deal, I just saw him at the park," the taller said defensively.

"Not the point! It's Ryouga we are talking about. He's a douchebag, why would you want to even be around him?!" Iv was pissed. His best friend had betrayed him with his worst enemy. Keeping from just hitting his friend right there was an exibit of self control at it's finest.

"You're jumping to conclusions again. I said that I saw him, it's not like we are friends or something. And why are you automatically assuming that it's Ryouga?"

"Because it's not like you've been talking to Shin about the situation. Unless you have and you're just lying to me about liking him," Iv challanged his friend. He had to admit, as much as Ko-Ki protested, sometimes he would get the feeling that he actually liked Shin, and just pretended to hate him to cover it up.

"Ew! Would you get over that. There is no chance in hell!"

"You think there isn't a chance for a lot of things,"

"That's because I'm not delusional,"

"So you thought I was delusional for thinking that I had a chance with Reno? Well it happened, so what now,"

"So you win. And I don't think that about other people, only situations involving myself,"

"That doesn't make sense. Honestly, I think you might have a shot with Murai-sensei," the shorter leaned against the wall now. He noticed that the conversation had changed, but wasn't willing to revert back to the subject of Ryouga. He was angry with Ko-Ki about him spending time with his tormentor, but didn't feel like fighting with his best friend anymore either. He hoped that it was only minor like Ko-Ki said and wanted to calm down first, otherwise he probably would end up hitting the other.

"No. I really don't think that he is stupid enough to risk his job over some fickle minded student of his. That's why I don't do anything more than just mess around. Believing that something could actually happen is like an internet relationship. Things like that just don't work," the redhead tried to make his point, nodding in agreement to himself.

"You're playing around on the internet now?" Iv couldn't help but laugh. Sure he would go online sometimes, but thinking of Ko-Ki sitting there and typing away to some stranger about the nutrition value of a fish's innards was hilarious.

"Eh...Not really. I just play games or with photoshop, nothing special," Ko-Ki was a little quieter. Iv smiled because he knew he might be right. Even if the other was hard for him to read, he had his moments where it was possible.

"If you say so. Anyway, I think class started up again. Should we go?" he asked, not really wanting to go back, but he knew if his parents heard of him skipping class he would have hell to pay.

"Sure, I guess I can stick around for a little while longer," the redhead smiled and pushed himself off the wall and headed in the direction of their class with Iv trailing closely behind. Both of them unaware of the shadow that leaned around the corner to watch them leave.
